This was my very first sewing project I did with a sewing machine! My straps turned out a bit wonky, as I didn’t know how to sew in a straight line yet, 😂😅 but the final effect was still super cute! And even got a compliment on it from a friend! So surprised that my first project actually turned out good, so thank you so much for this tutorial. I’m so excited to sew more!

I made the last button up sleeve top you showed us, from an old dress shirt that my husband no longer wore. He loved it. It was a sky blue and it looked SO cute. He couldn't believe it was his shirt, haha. Anyway, i cant wait to try this one out!

Any recommendations for closing up that middle section and making it look fairly seamless? I'm thinking you could flip the shirt around and wear the back on the front so you could have a seam closing it at the back and it wouldn't look too weird.
@TheEssentialsClub3 жыл бұрын
The benefit of having the front middle seam means the drawstring can finish there. If you're worried about that centre section opening you could always sew it closed like a regular seam and just stop about an inch from the top and bottom so it allows the drawstrings to still function. The bunched up effect should then make the seam pretty invisible..
