DIY Repair - Fix Touchless Soap Dispenser

In this video, I'm going to diagnose and repair simplehuman touchless soap dispenser that stopped working. I found that super capacitor on the logic bard is bad and go through the steps on how to replace it.

April 4, 2023. Mine is flashing red with new batteries. Prior to installing the new batteries, it was flashing red so I pressed the plus button. Looked like nothing was happening so I left it. Then when I looked over, it was continuously dispensing all the contents out. How do I fix?

Define "not working". Mine operates but no longer pumps soap.

Hi, I have a SH dispenser but its sensor stop working, when I put my hand it doesn't work any more, but the mechanism works fine because when I press the button manually the dispenser works, at the moment I extract the soap manually by pressing (+) button. Do you know if it would be easy to solve? does the sensor expire? is it possible to replace it?

@ht Nope, I still have the same dispenser and for 1 or 2 months I have to do it manually and then suddenly the sensor works again, then it works continuously for about 1 month or so and then stops working again. It was working the first weeks of February and now it doesn't work again. 😄

les pannes sont très souvent dues à des condensateurs électrochimiques qui ont fait leur temps même si ils ne sont pas ‘crevés’ ou gonflés. Pour ma part je les commande sur AliExpress.

How do you take the top off to unplug clogged tubing

If I remember correctly, you can't open it from the top. See where I open in from the bottom, there are two long screws going all the way up. When you take out those screws the top will come off.

I got my from free did not work from a friend because it did not work. The easiest thing to do is use hot tap water and some distilled white vinegar. Let it sit for for 3 minutes and VIOLA! There is nothing that white vinegar cannot get clean or get a clog tube clear!!!
