Have to say how inspiring you are on lots of subjects.I was short of blending tools for my ink pads and was going spend lots of money on some until I watched you.I thought I can make my own.I used some 1 person mini jam jars 1.5" round and stuck circles of some some sponge cleaning cloths we get in the UK.The jars were free as local hotel was throwing them away,the cloths cost me 50p each and I got 12 blenders from each.They work better than the Tim Holtz .A big thank you from Sarah from Nottingham England (Robinhood area) so you know where your many viewers watch you from xxx

Woman, you are a genius! I love how you share your ideas, I love your rambly way of talking (not meant to offend, I'm like that myself very much, so it's a relief to find somebody who talks like me ;-) ) I've got no money, but a strong urge to be creative, and your tips and tricks have made my stash of art supplies so much bigger and the possibilities are endless now. These days, when I see something I love to make, I don't think "oh, but I can't afford that". No, these days, I just go "Oooh, let's see if Lindsay has a video on this", and ohwyeah, you ususally have!!!!! Thank you so so much, you've made my artsy world so much bigger.

I just saw your question on the thin foam, you can use rubber cement to attach layers of foam to make it thicker and better for stamping. Apply rubber cemect to both prices you want to attach, let it dry 5 minutes then press both peices together. You will have a thick foam sta.p then :)

I clean them with homemade stamp cleaner (Simple Green plus water) before it dries. I think glitter will clog the sprayer but you can try sprinkling on the wet spray, just go easy with it because you don't want you ink pads to get glittery when you ink up the paper.

I just made something similar to this after seeing your video, and it worked wonderfully! I used multi-media clear acrylic varnish from Sax, Createx acrylic pearl medium and water. My mixture was thicker and more pearly, but what a cool resist effect it had with dye inks and watercolor! I also used my water soluble oil pastels and watercolor pencils blended with water over them and that was fun too. Thank you for sharing!
@thefrugalcrafter

sure you can color it but I think it is more useful to keep it clear and let it dry and use other inks over it, that way you can use it with any paper or ink combos but we all use our supplies differently so if a colored resist spry floats your boat go for it!
@thefrugalcrafter
@thefrugalcrafter 11 жыл бұрын
yes it is! I have some W&N too but I have not spray applied it, add a little bit at a time and test your sprayer, too much might clog it as I think it is chunkier than the blick;)

I have used the goosebumbs and it does have a texture but is can be pricey. This would be a very frugal way to share the process with a larger group of friends who want to play and jsut have fun experimenting. Can't wait to give it a try! Thanks for sharing

I came across your videos a few months ago, and have been BINGE WATCHING! I love that you are into so many crafts - I AM TOO! And that you have solutions, frugal, storage, diy for EVERYTHING! I can’t tell you how grateful I am for your videos & blog, I am on a very tight budget! I have Chronic illnesses that were triggered by an accident, and though I can no longer work full time (I listen to my body), I still love art! I was a photographer & did a lot of freelance writing prior to getting into my accident, but afterwards writing the way I used to was very hard for me, I also suffered a brain injury. My physical therapists and pain doc have been phenomenal in helping me use my creative side to heal. I spent some time in the hospital after my accident, and my PT there introduced me to journaling, I was really depressed at first. I couldn’t hold my camera the same way, it was hard to form words and get out my emotions- one way I expressed how I felt was through my photography and writing, and that was gone.. BUT that didn’t last long, I just had to re-adjust a few things. Knitting & crochet & sewing became WONDERFUL physical therapy tools for me, I learned how to draw - and my OWN photos were my subjects. Then the WONDERFUL WORLD OF art journaling! Oh my!! My physical therapist in the hospital did this as a hobby and he introduced me to this. He would stay late, and a few of us would set up in the craft room and one time we looked up the sun was coming up! The nurses told us they didn’t want to interrupt us, they see so much anxiety, sadness & depression - but when they looked in on us they saw us laughing, talking about our future and that was good, they knew this was a healing for all of us. It was - and it has been. That was six 1/2 years ago, since I have done so many journals, I decided I was going to document first my illnesses, what it like living with this, then my illness no longer defined me - it was just something about me, like people have blond hair, or live in Rhode Island, or have a big family. So my journals became about my art, my photography, life going on around me. It was then I realized HOW MUCH art & crafting HAS BEEN a healing process and important part of my life. I still Knit, crochet, sew, paint, do photography, journal, and I have also added in gardening, & card making (& a lot of what goes under those) I do almost everything DIY and this last winter I took the plunge and started doing furniture too - which is SO RELAXING! There is something about the sanding, stripping down part of it that i love! I can look at total piece of junk and see something other people see as TOTAL JUNK! LOL when I am done, they are stunned it’s the same piece! In many of your videos you have said you teach or did, and you can tell, you do a fantastic job! So I wanted to finally comment after watching MANY of your videos! I have learned so much from your posts, and i enjoy them very much! Thank you for sharing your gift with us! It is refreshing to know I can come to your channel and find help for just about anything I need help with, and I am always met with a smile and warm greeting - yes your energy definitely rubs off!! Again thank you!! Always look forward to new videos and finding your older tutorials for stuff that is NEW TO ME!

O.K.! tried/tested...LOVE...it is exactly like your samples. I did have to add almost twice as much glue. I was using what I had, scotch quick dry & watercolor paper cuz I just bought the michaels brand, no shimmer my sprayers & I have diff. brands, always seem to clog no matter what I do. and a happy accident. I used distress ink and was 'flicking' to add more distress layers and spilled some water and found I could wipe with a bit of water on paper towel and it would
