DIY RESTORATION HARDWARE STONE VASE

I got inspired by Restoration Hardware and Potty Barn to create a stone or earthenware vase. I used a vase I already had and used spackling paste to give it texture. Products listed below.

Hi I'm new to your channel, Just wanted to tell you that I did that DIY before and it was better and easier to use gloves when you are putting the pink stuff on the base because first ,It is easier to put on and it created this texture when you tapped it with the gloves try it you will love it.

It turned out really cute. It’s funny we have the same taste lol. I did a matte black this morning and I couldn’t decide in if I wanted to do a lighter color but because I already have white creams and a few browns i went with matte black lol. Thats cute!

This turned out great. I think the Drydex is too smooth to use. Perhaps for a first coat or a smaller project. Would you consider revisiting this project, using the paint and baking soda idea?

The Drydex was way to smooth and gave me a different result but I’ve tried the baking soda mixed with paint and it works really well. I’ll record it soon and have that up ❤️

Another was to get great texture with a Cement look is with Waverly Chalk paint with baking soda. It provides an awesome texture!

It turned out sooo beautiful and the spray paint with rock effect it's gorgeous, once a super market brought such sprays and i was almost attempt to buy it... but then left it... now i regret it, because the price was also redicoluse cheap... anyway i have to ask in some hard wear stores, they may have it....

Fabulous... awesome job!!! One question for you I know you were playing with colors but it appears that you made effort to use different colors as well? Is there a need to use the different layers of paint colors... the river rock the white paint, and then going back in and adding more River Rock and but then you covered it with the texture paint, which to me was the only thing I could actually see. Would it turn out as nice as yours did if I just used the Spackle and the texture paint? Thanks so much for your time and a great video 🙌👌. I have two huge vases that I had no idea what to do with them

Thank you! I just kept playing around with it until I got the look I was going for. The different layers add more texture and dimension. I would for sure use the spackle, then use the textured spray paint if you want a similar look

Love Love this! This is exactly what I was looking for. I have an already glazed ceramic vase that I would like to DIY. So to get your finished product from an already glazed vase... Sand down vase, Spackle, spray paint (color of my choice) and then textured spray pain. Is that right? Thanks again! Great video!

I just kept working the vase until I was satisfied with the look. But I would start with the Spackle to give it texture, then paint it the color you want. You can also use the stone spray paint if you want more texture and color

Did you find some pampas grass? I bought one bunch of natural pampas grass from the farmers market and one blue-dyed bunch from Michaels. I spray painted the blue one's black. Some grocery stores have them near the entrance and the floral department. I witnessed a lady cutting some on the side of the road. I hope you find some. Good luck.
