Image ripping all the trim and interior off your car only to learn water has penetrated and ruined all the window channels. This is a common problem on many classic cars and in this case our 1972 Chevy Nova has the same problem. Not only did the window channels rust over time water got in and destroyed the inner structure. Now we had previously ripped off the roof skin but prior to putting a new one on we had to repair, replace and even manufacture new window channels. But all cases are different so rather than being able to apply one technique we had to try out numerous ones to fix these rusty windows. But fixing the windows is only the tip of the iceberg. Exposing the rust allows you to tackle hidden rust, treat / repair inner structure, tackle rear dashboard (upper deck filler) and make sure this NEVER happens again. There are a LOT of products, techniques and tips in this video to help you get the job done as well!

You’re doing it! Only one thing you’re going to regret, full quarters. You can have access to the whole backside to treat.

Thanks David for the kind words... and yes I do regret that more than anything. I just finished the quarters and you are going to see some creative problem solving in that one. Had I known what I know now man full quarters, roof skin, full floors and full trunk. But hey live and learn. Comes out in 4 weeks just gotta get it edited. Thanks for the support

Looks great! I can't wait to see powertrain work. To answer your question of what we/I want to see? I'd say keep doing what you're doing with showing the hurdles you've encountered and the processes to overcome them. Allowing this channel to aid others that take on similar projects to learn from those experiences is invaluable.

Thanks for the feedback I think we will do just that. The show is going to transform into much more problem solving and creative thinking as it goes. We really leave the mold of doing it by the book and deal with what we got. Thanks for the support as always man I appreciate it glad you liked it.

Max, you continue to amaze me. I would have given that thing up for dead. What you are doing is mind-boggling. When you finish, I think you'll have a PhD in automotive restoration knowledge. Watched and liked last night but forgot to comment. As usual, well done on the video.

JD always a pleasure to see you around. Thanks for the kind words this is where the tide shifted I had to make a decision. Up until now I was doing things "by the book" and step by step. But I realized to get projects like this done you have to get creative to get these beauties fixed. They are all different have have different problems. So got creative and it worked for the best. You will see a lot of this moving forward. Thanks for the kind words man! Hope you are well

@@SubdivisionAuto Oh, I'll be here, God willing, for each step of the process. You know I don't want to miss Jessica installing the floor mats, if y'all can manage to find a babysitter for that time out for her.

Looking good ....thanks for the ospho tip .....I think you will regret not doing full quarters....your new compressor looks smaller ....its not about quite..its more volume to run air tools longer ...remember..buy once...cry once

No worries Ospho is a game changer for sure.. Amazing what kind of metal you can save. Yes very much regret not doing full quarters I just finished putting them on yesterday... You will see what we did. That said it would have been smarter to do it all but live and learn. The compressor, although small, chargers really fast so it's better than my last one. For what I am doing it's good enough for sure but if I did this full time for many years I'd pick up a large one. For now it does the trick. But yes if I were to start all over again I'd buy the big one.

Assesment of the quarter panel condition should have been done before you decided on fully repairing rust issues in rear window channel . Might as well order outer wheel housing and trunk floor frop off panels to seal everything up well .

Yeah 100%. If I had to do this again I would have done a full quarter. Drop off was solid (which is rare) but outhet wheel houses were damaged. Just finished the quarters and wheel houses you'll see that coming up in the next video comes out in 3 weeks. Not my idea way of doing things but I learned some my mistakes. Hopefully people won't make my mistakes

No kidding eh, that is the first time I have heard that so I have to say it puts me at ease... maybe all the brutal effort was worth it in the end as the methods I used here (and continue to use for many videos to come) have not compromised the fatigued metal. The Ospho is good because of how forgiving it is. Car still has no primer on it and this episode was filmed back in november but its mostly in ospho. Next episode was just finished you will see the progress and other problems I run into (quarter panel video). Thanks for the feedback June 14th is the next one its just in the editing phase.
