Maybe I missed it, but can you please clarify: Are the rose petals and hibiscus flowers dry? How many drops of the rose essential oil would you recommend? 😊 Also, I’m new to making skin products at home - where can I buy a double boiler? Thanks in advance!
@TinaChristinaTD3 жыл бұрын
Dry rose and hibiscus petals. As far as how many drops of Rose EO, it depends on how much you are making and if you plan to apply to your face as well. Small (1) jar about 4-5 drops. If for your body only I would say 10-15 drops. I am no professional, but I have had an interest in these things for a few years now. There’s plenty of info out here for you. I hope I helped in some way. Be blessed!

That’s a perfectly easy recipe!!!! Would I just grind the rose petals or buy in powder form? What type of rose did you use?Can you recommend a certain brand of the flowers, oil and butter or would any organic brand do?

That is not properly done double boiler... warming the ingredients the way done in the video is not gentle as she said. And heating it to 70 degrees Fahrenheit? That temperature is below what lukewarm water would be (which is approx. 100 degrees F), so I’m confused as to why you would need to heat the ingredients up.
@animamundiherbals4 жыл бұрын
hi! sorry my Fahrenheit measures is a bit bad :) Use LOW heat, you can fluctuate between 70-100F within the 3 hours if you don't have a thermometer.

has anyone successfully made this recipe ? if so did yours set or stay at a more liquid consistency ? looks amazing but would love to know what the final consistency is like before making it.
@LavenderHazelwood2 жыл бұрын
It thickens up. Mine came out tan colored though which is disappointing. I'm wondering if it's because of the Shea butter...I'm thinking maybe it comes in different colors. Also, the amount she tells us to make here makes about 8 oz.

@@LavenderHazelwood when you made your body butter , did you feel that it was too oily/greasy of a consistency on skin or was it fine itself ? I’ve seen other people add arrow root powder to their body butter to not make it feel so greasy.
@LavenderHazelwood2 жыл бұрын
@@angelicarodriguez9561 I've never made one before so I don't have a lot to compare it to except for a store brand I've had before. My feeling is it may be a little oilier cause I wouldn't call it 'light' in texture but it soaks into the skin fairly quickly.
