This is a very good technique! I'm glad I watched this before diving into my doghouse. I'm removing the carpet on mine though because that rug really gets dirty quickly.

That is a very clever and interesting way to do that job. We have a 1995 Bounder with what looks like the same doghouse. Sometimes it gets noisy especially when the fan clutch kicks in on the 454. We may try your method. I wonder how much you notice the difference. I bet a lot.

We can actually talk to each other while driving. Before it was really hard to hear each other with the sound of the engine.

I have a 2002 Fleetwood Storm and the cover looks the same. Very cool way you did this. I see you put the insulation all the way to the edge of the cover. Did it affect the way it closes? Has the rubber gasket ever stuck to the insulatioon?

The insulation just went to the inside edge of the cover. So it didn’t disrupt the seal at all.

Im looking to do a patch job on my doghouse with some foil tape. Would cleaning the old foil surface with rubbing alcohol have a reaction to the foil at high temp?

I used acetone because of all the oils from the engine being on the doghouse. I don’t think alcohol will clean it well enough.

Yes it’s insulation so it does keep the heat from the cabin.
