Do we need RAID? I'm transition to 2 copies on HDD and 1 copy on SSD for my data. Microsoft Storage Spaces and Intel RST RAID 1 don't really provide any real value that I can notice for now.

I personally don't run any RAID other than a software RAID 0 for striped speed. I maintain backups to HDD and most of my data can be re-collected with time. Irreplaceable data is backed up to the cloud also. Only having 2x20tb RAID 0 makes more sense than having a mirror.
