With the Globe valve, there is a problem when you tighten the gland. Switch will turn/twist. Switch will also rotate in the Gate valve housing but can be secured with more J_B Weld.

Larry, Enjoyed your video but I'm missing where you captured the body(threaded portion of the rotary switch). Without anchoring the body the whole switch will turn until the wire twists. My apologies if I've got it wrong. Ron

You can pin it or epoxy the wiring to bottom of valve..Make sure you have the wiring very close to base of valve, if you use epoxy

agreed I asked the same question. Everything works for a bit but eventually you short out
@LarrySbrusch4 жыл бұрын
@@badotter1 I have had mine for over 2 years and it has not shorted out yet..as long as you epoxy the switch in were it will not rotate..

Great video! On the lamp you had already finished, what type of gear is that for the base and where did you get it?

#1)how do you keep the wires from twisting and eventually shorting out and #2) when you burr off the screw at the end of the valve gate or do you just remove the screw?

I'm wondering the same thing since the threads that come on those switches aren't threaded into anything

hello, have you tried with a dimmer in 1/2" valve?
@LarrySbrusch6 жыл бұрын
No I have not. Good ideal

You can still use a dimmer module. There's lots of options, The plug in kind, ..that you might get Lowe's, are unreliable in my experience. You can hardwire in a dimmer module, they're three position dimmers, three light levels, .they'll work on anything metal. You can get those on eBay. -Keep away from the cheap knockoffs, (they'll burn your house down.) Get one with that's UL Listed, that comes with a schematic, theyre about $12, note that they are polarity dependent.

Can you use super glue instead of epoxy?
@LarrySbrusch3 жыл бұрын
You probably could, but I would stick with what I know works.just my thoughts
