Hey Rob, I found an old roller at my grandparents house that was designed for just this. It is called a Wallpaper Paint Roller. It has a hard rubber roller for the paint almost like a stamp, and then a foam roller below that. The foam roller picks up the paint and the rubber one pulls the paint off the foam one for consistent paint coverage. It is pretty cool, she got it in like the early 80's and there is still a wall in her old house that was painted with it. Gives me ideas now....

I think if you cut the stencil design in foam sheets and applied it to the roller, you might get a crisper print, but the text roller looked badass this way

I would love to see you try the technique where you layer a bunch of paint colors onto a wooden canvas and use print carving tools to carve through the layers of paint! It looks so cool!

I’m an artist myself and love this one thing for sure if you’re worried about hurting yourself with heating up stuff you can always get those hand held hot rods that melt metal and stuff that is used for carving/melting foam so you can really get the details very precise! I’m definitely going to try to see if that works maybe even a wood burner could be useful idk
