I’ve been so looking forward to this one. The mantel is GORGEOUS! All the wood grain swirls are beautiful. Josh was a great teacher/friend. The stones you picked out worked perfectly. I’ve never done anything like that. Dropping the phone was hilarious. And Beth calling Chuck a sissy was even better!! Haha Having Bob Ross there was perfect!! I adore how you all encourage each other. You’re going to enjoy this for generations to come. I can just imagine how many pictures will be taken in front of it. Brooke I think you went the right direction with what you used on the Mantle, Because polyurethane tends to Turn a yellowish color in time. So If you treat anything else with coats of anything to give it a Sheen just don’t use the polyurethane. I think I had left a comment in the past telling you to go Watch Jeff Barron’s video’s on the Table and Benches he built. The mixture of wood sealer & treatment that he used on his table and benches to give it that beautiful sheen... Also with less chances of the Yellowing effect which polyurethane does end up doing. What Jeff uses on his table & benches is A excellent choice to finish Furniture and other wood accents & decor. You, Chuck & the kiddos have done an absolute amazing job, what a gorgeous mantle, hearth and fireplace. That place you guys have built needs to be showcased in a national magazine such as Homes and Garden. You guys have built the Dream Ranch & Dream Cabin of Ranch & Log Home lovers like myself, just utterly Gorgeous and admirable to say the least. Thanks for sharing your lives with us viewers. Thank you so much CC! Yes, I have definitely been happier with the top coat I have put on the mantle and other pieces of wood throughout the house...no yellowing!! I do remember you mentioning a different option than polyurethane in a previous video, which made me look for the alternative...thank you for that! We pay you are doing well and as always, love your support and fun-loving words of encouragement ❤️
