I loveeee how you show your "Mistakes" and share what you learned along the way! It's so refreshing to see that someone I look up to so as has their moments too and are not always "perfect" and that you're still learning too and it's so helpful to have the extra tipsl! I love how this one turned out and those candy hearts in the background are the cutest!

Wow I swear every project of yours is getting better and better! Circle skirt was definitely the right choice (vs. straight skirt) for the twirly and poufy shape. I admire your patience in working with all those layers of tulle!

I loveeeee how it turned out! Sis you look snatched in that dress! Also props to you for showing how messy sewing can be! It was breath of fresh air when I saw your set up with all your tools surrounding you! When I usually watch sewing KZbinrs I legit only ever see like these clean shots on every step! Yet whenever I sew, gurl it’s a mess haha so after a while I got a bit stressed about it! Love the video! Keep up the amazing work!! ❤️🔥💕👌🏼

Joe Maldon what kind of things do you sew? I haven’t met many male sewer yet so I’m always open to meeting new people with my interests

joshua martinez Hi! I sew all types of things! Whether they’re alterations, custom clothing, to accessories! I also LOVE embellishing! I have a few videos on Pokémon embroidery! I noticed your pikachu profile pic! Hope you check my content out! I have many interests outside of sewing so Im planning to incorporate them with sewing ! Kinda like the pokemon embroideries where my love for gaming meets my addiction to sewing! I’m really grateful for the sub! Thank you 😊

I have always subscribed to the thought that a too clean sewing/craft room means one of two things: #1. NOTHING is going on in that room sweetheart, so stop pretending you're "crafty" or "I sew ALL my clothes". Your numbers up. OR #2. The sign of a sick mind, (😂 j/k~sort of). I sewed for about 40 years. My sewing room was always what I called "organized chaos"! It looked a nightmare but I knew where everything was so I'd tell anyone who asked how I found anything or rolled their eyes at the mess to "shut it"! My girls had the BEST prom or dance dresses and clothing that was entirely unique that no one could copy. I was a for real "hippie" in the early '70s and I sewed all my clothing too. Listen, your process is your process. Please don't ever let a person or video make you feel insecure in your talent. It's obvious you're passionate about this. And passion, whether in love or life, can get messy. So make that mess. Have stuff everywhere if you must. It's what you produce from that chaos that matters. Good luck Sweety. I hope you sew yourself into a coma! 💖 💖 💖 Jenn

rhijulbec1 thank you so much for sharing your amazing memories, it’s always fascinating to hear stories of another person’s sewing experiences throughout their lives especially from a decade as revolutionary as the 70’s 💕 Im truly starting to trust and not overthinking my sewing process. I’m so thankful for your kind words ! They are both reassuring and inspiring ! thank you! 💕💝

This is SOOO COOOL! I haven't seen this movie, but every time I come across an old prom dress like this in a vintage store, I always gasp at their prettiness, but they're all so tiny and fragile (probably why they survived, as special occasion clothes with sentimental value.) So omg. Seeing the sewing techniques, some of the same problems I've had with cosplay was cool, (SEWING TULLE. IT'S HARDER THAN IT LOOKS!) but it also just had me appreciating the sewing my mom did for me for special outfits, her dislike of zippers, etc. :) She sewed her own clothes in the 1960s, so seeing a vintage prom dress being made by hand is so beautiful and encouraging for me to get back to the machine.

I saw this because I subscribed to your fabulousness, but I’ve been searching for years for one of these videos and this is the very first one I’ve seen. I wonder if there are more hidden with random titles. I search making a 1950s prom dress, diy 1950s prom dress, diy gathered tulle prom dress! I hope this video gets tonnes of views! Great job
