Great idea with plenty of room for experimenting and designing for those of us who love making things. Can start using immediately with no investment while making refinements. That overrunning is the main discouragement from playing records for me. Thanks a lot!

Haha, genius! I was looking at solonoids and linear actuators, you did it with a piece of card and coin, guess I wont get that job at NASA after all.

Omg! You are awesome, you saved me with your great experiment and idea. I have Audio-Technica AT LP 1240X. (1st)

Thank you Raymond... it's like a Venus fly-trap for tonearms... excellent. Now we don't have to worry about dozing off ! 😴😁

I have two different ones, Fwend and Audio Technia, both work well and I would be embarrassed to have some homemade, ugly looking things on my expensive turntables personally. Although I understand the fun in making one that works!

I don't use mine. Can't make the hinge frictionless. Lots of Chinese knock offs these days.

@@AudioTnT Didn't mean to be rude, I just am OCD on stuff like that and want everything to be neat and matching etc.

When you spend that amount of money on a TT why would you cheap out on a tonearm lifter, I genuinely don't get it?
@AudioTnT6 ай бұрын
@@thehandseesall just to see if it works. I have a vintage Dual that lifts tonearm at the end of record and shuts off. Not many good modern TTs can do that. Lots of lifters on Amazon now but not when I made this.
