This is the third video that I have watched on replacing or refitting of a greased re-packet front wheel bearings and each time I have gained some valuable insights. With this video it confirms the correct arrangement of the inner bearing seal which is with the rubber ring facing outwards but against that is the locking star lock ring which should have one locking lug star locking ring bent facing inwards and the other facing outwards but nonetheless I thanks you for all the valuable information.

@@TeamBulletOffroad sure is mate. Maybe look into getting one of those bearing packers. It looks like a little tub with a tapered plastic cone on top. You put the bearing under the cone where the grease is and put the cone on top of the bearing and push down and it greases the bearing as the grease is pushed up. Much easier and less mess.

greetings guys- Im William and need some help. Driving a land cruiser 76 series and had frond discs and bearings replaced . Now hub on one side feels hot to touch after driving at hiway speeds for 100kms . Im on contract in africa so no decent reliable place for repairs but plenty of motivated amateurs which got me into this position. Any thoughts? we used plenty of grease, replaced brake pads on both sides and put in fresh diff oil for good luck. Now passenger side hub is much warmer to touch after but only after going at highways speeds for an hour or so. no heat during city driving even with plenty of breaking. any ideas would be welcome. cheers

Jesus that's a lot of corrosion for just doing beach runs. Are you washing always after beach runs and at least every couple months going to down under the car with innox or penetrol etc?

Nick, when we do this run, we are beach bound for2=3nweeks, no taps here mate.... just shows you how bad the ocean tracks can be......

@@TeamBulletOffroad mmmmm pebbly beach yea? 3-4 weeks without a tap is definitely pretty hard to mitigate the salt water effect. Have you sprayed any sort of protection under your car though before doing those trips and do you do it every couple months? I've been using the spray bottle of inox link below. I've found that if I spray that and leave it to dry for a good week or so then it keeps everything especially surface rust and rust generally pretty much non existent and I have an old 2004 GU patrol. Just the time I'm up there the couple of times a year I don't... My wife tries to do the washing up in buckets so I get to throw that grey water on the brakes each time....
