DIY 4X4 BEARING REPLACEMENT ON 79 SERIES LANDCRUISER

A how to wheel bearing change on a 79 series landcruiser video done by a qualified Mechanic. This is the front wheel bearing and Bryce talks about what to do.

I have seen the inner seal fitted such that the rubber lip is facing inside but know that for the rear wheels they should face outwards. I suspect that it is the same for the front too.

Great video . As someone said best I have seen . Can I ask what exactly should I search for on Ebay re those tools you were using ? What are they called? Also when ya going to do a bearing video for the rear wheels ? Thanks cheers Granr

Haven't done the rears but will soon can't remember the tools but you will find ebay I think they bearing punch kit don't quote me though..

Don't know how you did it in leass than an hour, took me 9 till 4 friday and 9 till 1 Sat freewheeler would NOT go in, I removed in free, had to place in "lock" to get it in with a LOT of stuffing around. Thanks for the Video, extremely helpful, looked at it 3 * to make sure my FWH I did correctly, and that was the passenger side only:-(

Sorry mate but in my opinion your preload is way too tight. Also the outer lock nut does affect the preload as its pushing against the thread tapers.

no worries but I have not had any problems and have just done back in july the anne beadell highway with no problems but will take you comments into account, thanks for your comment
