AD: I’ve partnered with @MinwaxUSA in this video to show how you can make an easy upgrade to your sofa by adding custom turned wooden legs. This is a simple turning project that can be made on a midi or a mini lathe. If you’re not comfortable turning your own sofa legs, there are many options online for sofa legs that are already turned. I show how I use and layer Minwax Color Stain and Design Series products to create a unique custom look that complements the color of my sofa and the décor of my room. These products are quick and easy to apply, come in an extensive range of colors, and result in a beautiful and durable finish! #keeponfinishing
lnk2.io/wCBQrvs
Supply List:
-Wood for turning: I used kiln dried ash, starting with blanks that were 2.5” by 2.5” by 7”
-Hanger Bolts for attaching legs to the sofa (these should match the threads that are on the feet that are currently on your sofa)
-Wheels (if you want them for your sofa legs)
-Minwax Pre-stain Wood Conditioner: www.lowes.com/...
-Minwax Solid Color Stain Wood Finish: www.lowes.com/...
-Minwax Semi-Transparent Color Stain Wood Finish: www.lowes.com/...
-Minwax Soft Touch Finishing Wax: www.lowes.com/...
-Purdy brushes: Extra Soft chinex brush and Semi-rigid Nylon/Polyester brush
-Heavy duty paper towels
Colors:
Marine Blue

No handle required. I too find myself picking up a tool and using it, not bothering to attach a handle. Great project Ashley, well done! Enjoyed the “design process” and the stain play.

Really glad to see you again, your you-tube presence has been missed. I always chuckle when you are wearing your black shirt/sweater and end up covered in white wood shavings. Thank you for an interesting topic.

I'm new to your channel Ashley! It's nice to see ANOTHER female woodworker😉 When I took my first woodworking class back in 2007 the lathe always scared the Dickens out of me so I never practice on it or made a project with with the one we had. I remember of my church he was getting rid of some of his big tools and he offered me, if I remember correctly, a full size lathe that he was just going to give me but there wasn't enough room in our garage and so he gave it to somebody else cuz I just kept avoiding him. Anyway watching you do this makes me think of one thing, and that is how do you keep your hands moisturized? What product do you use to keep your hands moisturized? Keep up the good work Ashley and I'm just curious are you doing your woodworking in Oregon, cuz that's where I'm at? Keep up the good work!

Question for you regarding your Vicmarc. Does your lathe have the 3 HP motor and if so, do you do 'coring' with it? I'll be getting my 'retirement' lathe in a few years and am curious how the Vicmarc is with respects to coring...thanks.
