Top of the morning! Lovely piece of kit you’ve designed there. Simply marvelous. I definitely would like to see your wiring diagram, I’m about to install the same layout in my van mount. I want to control the pump while in the field and have speed control as well on board. Thank you for your presentation, very informative for the technically impaired diy-er.😂

Thank you for your kind comment. If you are going about wanting to build a van mounted system, I would highly recommend going about using pumps and controllers that are intended for use with long hoses and moving water at volume. The controller, as used in my build, has a pressure switch, but I'd never recommend relying on it. You really need a dedicated pump controller with a dead end & pressure switch such as the Spring Europe's Ltd V16 found in many presented editions from DA Components, Bladeright & prue freedom. Also, you will need a suitable and reliable pump such as the Shurflo 8000s 100psi 5lpm. These are the key components that many diy van mounted systems lack, and you'll end up with a parts cannon and just throwing money into constant replacement parts. Trolley systems are really only intended for occasional and hard to access jobs. Filling water barrels and making low volume pure water isn't efficient or going to help you with the amount of work you van cover in a day. Reference my wiring diagram and parts. It's all noted in the video description and url linked to the forum thread on the window cleaning forum. Kind regards Austin

@AW-Services10 ай бұрын
Unfortunately, no. Due to the time needed to produce the high-quality enclosure, it wouldn't be cost-effective. Also, within todays age of liability, I'm unable to certify it. The trolley itself is harder to source, and the price has sky rocketed considerably within the past years. You'd be better off with a FaceLift Big boy backpack and a suitably strong sack truck. Kind regards Austin

Superb Job, totally impressed with the quality of finish. I'm also looking to do something similar, already have the pump and a few other things on order. What did you say the pipe on the inlet/outlet of the pump was? 8mm I/D PVC? Although my pump has the threaded connections, but hopefully same size will suit! I know in a later video, you showed the burn't out controller, so will avoid that one (if still available). A wiring diagram would be useful, if you still have one available. Thanks, Pete B.

Hello Pete. Sincere apologies for the Very late reply. Didn't have a notification of your comment. The inlet hose is just clear B&Q sourced 8mm ID PVC hose and the outlet is more completed as I pride myself on quality. It's a Parker Rectus 21 female bulkhead fitting with 1/4" thread onto a 1/4" male to 8mm barb fitting with a short piece of 8mm ID pvc hose. Great video I have been wondering whether in practice you could use the remote in the same manner as a univalve. Thanks
@AW-Services4 жыл бұрын
The whole purpose of my remote control is as the name states. To control the flow of water from the source. Pressing the remote control once turns the pump on and water flow on. Two presses turns the pump off and water flow off. This method far exceeds the univalve as the pump isn't triggering its pressure switch and pulsing until the length of hose you are working with becomes charged. Also univalves in my opinion after testing freeze and crack and also the barbed hose ends snap after prolonged use in the summer with fatigue
@techietrev1894 жыл бұрын
Yes I get that and thanks for your reply. In practice do you find that the range on the remote allows you to keep the trolley at the front of the house while you clean the back? Also how would you list the advantages of using your trolley over a backpack? Again thanks for sharing.

@AW-Services2 ай бұрын
@elitefleet6402 if you have a controller such as a spring Europe Ltd V11 or V16 it won't work because the controllers need to be physically switched on. Or if using a cheap Chineseium controller which is technically a motor speed controller it also is switched and sometimes has a start button. The common sense approach would be to have the remote control wired in after the pump controller, and then you'll only be switching the pump on
@elitefleet64022 ай бұрын
@@AW-Services Thanks so the only other way is bypass the controller switch and fit an actual on/off on the controller box. just thought oh i have a remote laying about from another project that never happened.
@AW-Services2 ай бұрын
You can use a remote control, but don't fit it before the pump controller, as you'll be switching it on and off. You only need to actuate the pump as that's the only moving component that does any work

@AW-Services3 жыл бұрын
No not at all as a fuse is a breakable switch in fault conditions. Also an isolation switch would just generate higher resistance at the contacts and there is now feasible reason to switch off the supply.

As listed it's a common/negative busbar. All negative connections are grouped together so the battery connection isn't overloaded with wiring because it's only a male spade terminal. Treat all the wiring as you would do with domestic household wiring installations. Switch between the live and all negative / commons are all grouped

Good evening Danny and thanks for watching the video and your comment. All the information is within my comments to other viewers and can be found on the Window Cleaning Forum - water fed pole pump trolley build with the links found in the comments. If you are unsure of British wire gauge just pull apart your average extension lead or flat 2 core mains 1.5mm flex. It's only a 6.5 amp system so you won't need to go heavy on wiring Please SUBSCRIBE
How do you release the airlock? I have a basic system using a shurflo pump but every time I change a container I have to release the air or it will run really slow. To do this I run the pump and let water spill out for a few seconds until I can see it's clear. But you couldn't do this on the rectus fittings as the water won't run unless the hose is connected
@AW-Services5 жыл бұрын
Never have airlocks as the inlet hose and cap is vented so negative pressure. Also the prime it I just increse and decrease the pump flow rate. I made this from scratch and designed its operation so I have no issues whatsoever Having a hose and pole connected via a Rectus 21 you have an open system to the brush head
