Hey girl, I wanted to ask why do you melt the Shea butter ? At a certain point of heating there are risks to make it loose some of its proprieties. If I may, there's no need to do this, I do almost the same (but I add some coconut oil) and I just whipp it in it's natural state adding the oils gradually and it works perfectly ☺️
@olivechels6 жыл бұрын
i melted it to incorporate the oils easier but i kept the heat on very low
@uhwyd16446 жыл бұрын
its better to use a mixer to whip it up
@imogeninnit4 жыл бұрын
this looks amazing! :) how would you use this on your hair? would you put it on your ends & apply a sealing oil on top for everyday moisturisation or apply generously all over & wash out the next day? I'm new to haircare & trying to understand the basics so I hope this doesn't seem like a ridiculous question

Im white woman that has very dry curly kinky curly hair and shea butter is a blessing like my hair is so dry i can apply it at night and it is absorbed quickly that next day i apply light coat but I love it coz it does stay longer and can tell my hair is starting to grow and only been put on my hair and scalp lightly in a week or 2
@lisascales95823 жыл бұрын
Messing around with it in my hair for few weeks lightly is key to every thing

@mamamia48864 жыл бұрын
hey! how long does the mixture stay good? I read in someone else's comments that you have to add a preservative otherwise it will go bad in like 4 days
@deyshawnna4 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure on long it'll last without a preservative, but it'll most definitely last long than 4 days. When Shea butter is mixed with oils, it doesn't need a preservative. If you mix water in it, you will need to add a preservative.
@ShaniyahD4 жыл бұрын
You have a good freezer so it may not have to take as long as 20 mins maybe 10 or 15 mins in your case.

I watched your video & another persons; both of ya'lls DIY mix came out sooo smooth & creamy. I whipped mine for almost 30 mins & still could not get it creamy. What did I do wrong? I used the same recipe as you xcept I added a lil bit of castor oil. Does it matter if you use refined or unrefined shea butter? Did you use the whipped or mix setting on your mixer? thx
@domingo88825 жыл бұрын
The mixture needed more oil. The ratio of oil has to be greater than the butter amount used.

Do you know if you have Seborreic Dermatitis, or Seborreic Eczema? That condition is caused by a yeast cell that is typically found on everyones body and they feed off of the oil that your body produces. People with Seb. Dermatitis have a reaction to that yeast cell and it causes the skin to become red, itchy, and flaky (scaly). Adding oils to your skin feeds the yeast cells and causes them to multiply, which can intensify the skin reaction. I found that when i put coconut oil in my hair I will get extremely itchy and my seborreic dermatitis will get worse the next morning.
