SOOOOOOOO COOL love this project you are awesome I'm getting ready to make the paper create pumpkins going to do this, but gotta find bottle cutter I will send you pics I just made my brother a leaf bird bath,or whatever he wants to do with it made my sister a shell and create bird bath, for her birthday ,Sept. 4th , which she loved if you want to see the pictures too

I would never use a rock against glass. You will shatter it in a high wind. Wood is much better.
