Be careful when you take lava rocks (anything from the land) from Hawai'i!! It's bad luck and if you do, make sure you have someone chant/bless in Hawaiian to allow you to bring it back home! If anything bad happens make sure to send it back asap... but hopefully it's fake! lol

@Ayanna Mett because it angers the volcano goddess, Kil'ewea. Disruption and disturbances would upsets her and brings misfortunes to the individual or anyone around that individual. For there are many records that happens

You can find lava rocks in Bellingham Washington I got some there by the nooksack river my family is part of the tribe so we have a part of the land I think we saw one lava rock and a lot of cool rocks we had to take an old car my family had that we have not seen for years because i live in stanwood and we keeped getting lost on the big property 😂
@UnladylikeBerry2 жыл бұрын
But the funniest thing is all of my family don’t look like native Americans - my dad is in the tribe but me and my brother and sister don’t have enough % to be in so we have to go to Canada to talk to people from there to get the % well are family (fun fact: Canada used to be part of washington or usa i forget wich one)

Is that A Thing? Bringing rocks back for people as gifts/souvenirs?
@RubyOpheliaQuinn10 жыл бұрын
I just don't understand why you'd bring someone a rock unless that person was a rock collector or it was from a site that held significance to the person.
@601AnnA10610 жыл бұрын
I do that all the time. I take some rocks with me back home from the places I visit as souvenirs.
@lilyanderson85784 жыл бұрын
@@RubyOpheliaQuinn You don't have to be a rock collector to like the look of one. It's nice for people to look at rocks because they're pretty, just like any other piece of jewelry. (Not trying to be rude 😜)

i live in hawaii and usually tourists take like lava rocks or sand from beaches and a lot of them send them back because taking them from their environment supposedly brings you bad luck. hopefully you got that rock from like a gift store where it's like not just just from the ground straight up (:

I'm not trying to be offencive in any way so please do not take offence in this comment, it is just my opinion. I LOVE your ideas and like this great DIY but i feel a bit cringy and uncomfortable watching you two togethor. You don't act like friends and you don't look very comfortable, its a bit awkward really, how you two act together. (i knowi probably made a few speeling and gramma mistakes but please acknowledge the word and there meaning not just mistakes i make)

What are you looking for in a necklace DIY?...Hugs, kisses, and pillow fights?? They each have a great personality, work very well together, and share the monologue. Maybe check out the rest of their videos.
@MissAkua10010 жыл бұрын
Kailyn Leigh I have checked out all of their videos actually, no i do not expect "hugs kisses and pillow fights" but as i stated in my previous comment they just don't really feel like friends , a bit awkward. This is just my opinion so it obviously doesn't matter that much but i still wanted to share it.

@karley9314 жыл бұрын
is there really a right way? art is subjective. 🤷♀️
@nootnoot55104 жыл бұрын
Karley this was 3 years ago, and to answer your question yes there is a right way. You want jewelry to be durable and last for decades, the wire needs to support it and by bending it in certain shapes and patterns it adds rigitidy to the metal. It is not so much a question of what is art, or even what is fashionable- but the technique itself. Which to many holds a cultural significance. That's why we have the saying "a little more science than art/more art than science"
@karley9314 жыл бұрын
@@nootnoot5510 I know it was 3 years ago lol. sorry. I am an amateur jewelry maker myself and I know things have to be quite durable. my durability test is to attach the pendant to a chain and swing it around a few times lol. it is really hard to wrap crystals and rocks because they're just so wonky and ridged. I usually just use half circle glass pendants and secure it on all sides, it is a lot easier. sorry for babbling... 😅

A dry piece of lava is clled obsidian well atleast in minecraft
@thebasement92277 жыл бұрын
Obsidian is a type of gemstone, black lava is used in jewelry making and comes from actual dried lava.
@luisa1467 жыл бұрын
+Shannon Maraffa obsidian is just lava that after coming out of the volcano cooled off very fast so it gained a black glass-like look, and when broken it has very sharp edges, like glass. It cooled so fast it couldn't form crystals in its structure. Regular lava rocks instead cooled off slowlier so they're grittier. The slower the lava cools, the bigger crystals inside can grow, to the point you can see them with naked eye.
