Consider adding a 3 way selector valve on the intake side that allows you to pull fuel out of Jerry cans instead of the tank. This filters the fuel before it enters the tanks. We find this makes putting fuel in the tanks very easy when no fuel dock is available.

Does adding a biocide treatment to the tank affect the polishing system in any way, or would running the system remove the treatment before it could do its job?
@travelsketch6 ай бұрын
No and we suggest Liqui Moly Diesel Protect

@@travelsketch The only and verified diesel biocide is Grotamar 82. Approved by OTAN...

@travelsketch I have looked for Liquimoly via Super Cheap Auto ( name from the past ), they have shed loads , but which one are you specifically using ? Is it called Diesel Protect? 👍🇭🇲🦘

Disregard , realised marine, not road stockist.

Thanks for posting this, just a question. The pump you selected is rated at 72.5 PSI, but I think the RACOR is only rated to max 25 PSI (from what I can tell). Did this cause any issues? I'm guessing that as the filter is on the vacuum side this was not a problem.

Correct. The filter is before the pump so it's under negative pressure and is within its operating limit 👍

Any issues with the flow into the vent line being high enough that it prevents adequate air to vent and therefore resulting in fuel being expelled out of the vent? I tied our 1/4” water maker product line, 15 gal/hr, into our tanks 3/8” vent line and had that problem.

I get the concept of fuel scrubbing. But returning fuel to the same tank which holds contamination must require many passes through the scrubber to clean all the fuel and main tanks from debris. Would a day tank downstream from the scrubber offer a solution to store clean fuel ready to use as required? My understanding is storage of large quantities of fuel inevitably for longer periods on yachts, increases the risk of contamination.

You are correct. That said you clean the diesel before the tank becomes unusable. It becomes a regular cycle run periodically. No matter what tanks you install (most boats won't have the space and pumping between the two is the best option) one tank will always have some diesel bug in it without chemical treatment.

Breather hose as a return is a bad idea -if the breather hose gets blocked you will dump all your fuel overboard... The return must be t'd into either the engine supply or return
