Awesome tutorial! I’ve changed the brake pads on my Maserati SQ4 a year ago and curious to see how other fellow owners do it. I use o Reilly Ceramic pads that cost me only $80 dollars and they perform excellent. Only downside is that they don’t have the sensor so I just zip tie the sensor

This is super helpful Dan! Gonna take on this same job on my GT in a few weeks. Thanks for providing the tool dimensions as well! I’d like to flush the brakes as well, assume I can loosen the relief valve and depress the brake repeatedly?
@DIYDanCars Жыл бұрын
No problem! I haven't checked to see what the process is like on a GT (brake fluid flush), yet. The only thing that worries me is a lot of these newer cars require you to cycle the ABS pump with a scan tool in order to flush the brake fluid completely. However, I don't see the harm in using the "old" method either.

Lovely video and very clear instructions. Since I bought a Porsche Macan last year and a Maserati Grancabrio this year aswell I'm loving these kind of videos! No way I'm paying EUR 550,- for an oil change on a Macan that is about EUR 80 in parts and 20 minutes of work. Same goes for Maserati.
@DIYDanCars8 ай бұрын
Thank you! What model Macan did you go with? I have heard the 6 cylinder ones are maintenance nightmares. Hopefully you have better luck than what I'm hearing about them. As a former Porsche Cayenne Turbo owner, I don't think I will ever buy another Porsche again after that disaster.

It's the base 2.0 with all the options on the middle console including Sport Plus Chrono. Reason is very simple: my wife drives it mostly and doesn't care about speed or acceleration. Fuel economy is alot better, maintenance is cheaper and parts are more widely avaible since it's basically a Volkswagen Golf GTI engine. @@DIYDanCars

You can service your own car and keep the warranty. According to the Magnuson-Moss Warranty act, which is enforced by the Federal Trade Commission, it's illegal for manufacturers or dealers to void your warranty or deny you coverage because you performed the work yourself.

Nice video but I believe that you made an error with the tensioning spring. I did this job but with Brembo pads and the instructions clearly say all arrows point in the direction of rotor travel. Perhaps it’s a brembo thing but wanted to point out for anyone watching this video but using different pads. Read the instructions!
@DIYDanCars Жыл бұрын
Hello, I just double checked my video and I don't see anything wrong with the way I installed the tensioning spring. My Maserati shop manual clearly states that arrow on the tensioning spring needs to face up, which is clearly shown in this video. Also, I'm also not using Brembo brake pads!! I went with EBC Red Stuff pads.
@DavidM-mb1vx Жыл бұрын
@@DIYDanCars I saw that. I used the Brembos and it’s arrows towards rotor direction. Just pointing that out in case someone uses this video as direction but different pad types.
