You have to finish the oops in the wood wall. Frame it and put a small piece of art, make it a secret fairy door....something. "Show Off" that oops.

Rug idea! Put a larger cream colored "Berber" type rug UNDER the beautiful one! You can get one (relatively inexpensively) to your custom measurements at most carpet stores, just have them bind the edges and "Bob's your uncle"! :D

Aren't the batteries in EVs incredibly toxic to make and dispose of? And inhumane when mining the materials? And the charging stations are often powered by gas? And the batteries don't last long and take thousands to replace? Serious things to consider.

Personally, I think your blue couch was a happy result from your search for a green one. A green one would not have looked as good with your gorgeous rug as that blue sofa does. It's perfect!!! 😍 And I say that, even though green would be MY preferred colour over blue. It is such a beautiful blue, though, isn't it? 💙 I absolutely LOVE this cozy, creative space you have fashioned. So warm and welcoming and inspiring. You have done it again, girl! 💖

Just finished watching this and am teary eyed 🥹 I’ve been watching your channel for about 2.5 years and am so in awe of how you have made this space come to fruition. I moved over the summer and about a week ago finally got my home office/work out space together. It was not nearly the kind of undertaking as your garage is/has been and I felt so proud of myself. I can’t even begin to imagine how good it must feel to bring this space to life! Thanks for sharing the journey with us ❤

Hi Dani, I’m a Canadian to, but I’m on the other end of the coast. I think you’re in Ontario and I’m in BC. I started playing with art in California, where we were entered for a number of years. I never thought about selling my art, lot in the RV park where we went for the winter every year I sold pieces of art. I’ve also had a lot of friends that I’ve asked for my art to hang in their house so one thing led to another, and I started doing art at home. My husband made me a small art area in our garage, which he used for all his tinkering. And he did tinker. He was a garage sale junkie who would pick up different pieces of equipment, electrical etc. and he would come home and he would fix them. I always told him he could fix anything. He built our beautiful home by himself over a period of two years. The only thing you can help with was drywall on our cathedral ceiling in our great room. He got sick last year in July with cancer, and it was quite a journey and I did no art at all. He passed away in July this year, and of course, there was a tremendous amount of work, getting ready for his celebration of life and his funeral, and then the humungous job of cleaning out the garage. There was 40 years of stuff that he had collected over the years. He knew where everything was and he knew exactly what he had and when he would bring a Projects home, he would walk into that garage go to the shelf where it was pick it off and use it. Cleaning out the garage was an experience. But I decided to turn a portion of the garage Into an art studio for myself. I am just getting started, and I’m at the point where I can do art there. The garage was insulated and I have installed two heaters which work very well. Unfortunately I’m in the Okanogan and my car Hass to be in the garage. But I have an area that I’ve created a nice space for myself. He had a workbench which was cleaned off but the top of which was flat, but seriously damaged, and quite frankly looked awful. I got some stick on wallpaper in a marble pattern which was advertised as able to be used on countertops. It looks great the wall in the back of the workbench is pegboard, and I’m going to use it to display some of my artwork, I’m going to paint it an off-white color. But I would really love for you to send me your email address or video contact information and I would be more than willing to pay you for consulting with me and giving me ideas on how I can make it really workable. I was inspired by this video not only because it was interesting to see your thought process but my stepson works for a GM dealership and my husband and I just purchased a Buick SUV so the Buick aspect was quite amazing. I look forward to hearing from you and getting your ideas. Perhaps you could also, let me know what you would charge for working with me on this project. Thank you very much.

Late coming to the comments but just wanted to say that the blue couch is perfect with the rug! A green one wouldn't have worked as well. The drawers-side table was a fantastic idea. Years ago I found a single drawer like that in a thrift store. I sanded it, gave it an oil finish, put a brass handle on it, and I still love it.

I never watch sponsor moments or ads, but you had me on this one. If they only last 12 years, even without having to pay for gas, do you think it would be cheaper or just cooler and smarter? What kind of maintenance costs would there be? Wait, I thought that was going to be another big storage area, and the couch was going to be outside of your office area. Did I miss a memo? Love the layout. When is it better to use a French cleat to mount something on the wall, versus screwing straight into the studs? BTW, DD (mind if I call you DD?), feel free to make your new every-two-week videos even longer! I would be up for an hour if you just want to use the same content with fewer cuts! It all looks REALLY FABULOUS!! As always, I can't wait to see what comes next 💜

The couch actually works really well with the rug - all the blue grounds the room and then you have all the punches of color, so very cozy but still creative. I think we all knew that antique catalogue was going to become your side table and you did not disappoint - perfect. Everything about this space just works and is so you. Love this space! I was thinking about your rug and its size and 2 things came to mind. First, i think this space would be perfect for the «boho rug layering» trend! I think it’s eclectic enough and your vintage rug could be complimented so well with other ones. Secondly, it got me stressed out to imagine you drop paint on such an amazing vintage find! I feel like if you buy new, more affordable and less sentimental rugs and go with this layering thing, you could put a less precious rug under the easel and be free to make a mess! Anyway, love the place and can’t wait to see you create in there in a future video!
