I am always team Danie, but here is a lil editors love for you. The music your editor always works into your videos is chefs kiss, it's not the typical royalty free classics that are over used, and the mix in of the music to the edits are always fire.

Also can I just say I'm so glad you're being transparent about costs when it comes to this project. You do this with everything you do and I love it because it gives me a realistic idea of what you're doing costs. It also makes me feel less inaucyre about what I can personally afford. Love the energy and love your channel, Danie!!

IDEA: For the overalls - sew 2 large buttons on the back waistline, then twist a hair tie to desired amount and slip the ends over the big buttons. :-)

I was thinking a really great belt would take in some of the fullness. Even one of those gold stretchy ones! Asa sewist of over 50yrs. : make sure you pin in fullness and then sit down to see it is not pulling anywhere below the waist ...could be uncomfortable

Thank you SO much for being transparent about using a loan to build the garage. My husband and I just bought our first house, a sweet 1930s cottage, and need to build a garage at some point. Social media makes me feel like a failure for not being able to ~do all the things~ immediately, and you brought me back down to reality! Keep up the amazing work, you've inspired me so much as I work on our home!

At the very beginning of the vintage show, I saw the very same owl cookie jar that my parents received as a wedding gift and I had for years. Last year it fell off the top of my refrigerator and shattered into a hundred pieces and I cried. So when I saw it, I actually gasped.

This sounds wonderful! You’ll have both the artistic and building parts of your life physically joined which makes so much sense since both of those make up your creativity. And I’m all for Geoff getting some space of his own in the house. I’m looking forward to seeing this as it is built.

There was a plaid weekender bag at one of the booths that actually made me gasp out loud. It is exactly what I've been looking for with a vintage pattern and multiple compartments and it looks like its in great shape and while I can't tell from the video the accents looked like real leather not plastic junk. I almost cried it was so perfect, hopefully it has gone to a good home with someone who loves it.

My favorite thing on Saturday morning is coffee with my diy friend. So many exciting things happening, Danie! Sometimes the mundane details of a big project can take over our creative thought processes. I am at the end of a kitchen remodel. It has worn me out! I have a great general contractor but I have still been responsible for all the decisions. And I’m adding my personal diy touches into the space. And I am drained. I look at all the projects I had planned and I got nothin’! But now that we’re almost done, I feel the spark returning. I hope your creative spark is rekindled and your joy and optimism are returning. Please give yourself grace. And if I’m completely wrong, then never mind any of this. Except the first two sentences!🌸

This is so smart on so many levels. It’s going to add a lot of value to your property, it’ll give you separation of work and home (Read lower stress.), your husband will have more space in the house, which I’m pretty sure he must already have plans for, and Kobe will get more Danie time! You’ve come such a long way from decorating your rented home. I know it’s scary and stressful but it is a wise investment. Thank you for taking us along with you!

I’ve been watching you for awhile but my treatments &life got in the way. So I’m catching up. About 6 yrs ago I decided I wanted to move closer to family and I wanted a tiny home so we built a 50’x30’x14’pole barn, and we have built a residence for me in the back 12 feet. It’s 12x30, has a loft with a walk-in closet. It has taken us years to finish, but I’m about to move in. Now I’m going to watch DIY danie for decor ideas. So great to catch up with your amazing videos. It’s going to be fun to see you go through this process. Thanks for always being inspiring to me.

Random thoughts I had watching this video: 1) you have a jumpsuit to wear for future Team AG collabs , 2) please have a fire escape ladder from the second floor of the garage, 3) you will have a Kenobi door!, and 4) someday when you’ve paid down this loan a bit, you can straighten out your house :)

Do the coveralls have a space built in to thread a waist tie or elastic? It kind of looks like it. Either way, maybe adding an elastic rather than altering it would make it cozier and also easier to take on and off while adding the waist snatchery you’re aiming for…? 🤗 Can’t wait for your epic garage!

The jumpsuit you ended up buying looks exactly like a russedress, which is a garment norwegian teens wear when they graduate from high school, basically from the last week of april until the 17th of May. They’ll cover it with patches, decorate it with paint, glitter etc., and usually their own first or last name in huge letters.

I love the coveralls! You need these clips that we used back in the 70s they were for shirts and it would pull the waist in without having to tailor it. Almost like the clips you used to keep your sheets on the bed only tiny and made for your waist and you clip it in the back.

Wishing I could go to Toronto just for this fair, it looks amazing and your friend Emma's style is fabulous!! Vintage to me means anything until the mid/late 1970s, then anything after that is retro/second hand, but it's debateable. Your coveralls will also make an excellent Rosie the Riveter fancy dress outfit! Also I really appreciate your transparency in all your projects, it's very refreshing and helps us understand the process.

Loooove the coverall!! A quick and easy way to adjust the back waist would be to cut in a little slit inside so you can access the elastic, and make the elastic as short as you need, then stitch it back up. The material would still all be there but it would be more like a belt was put on. That’s the quick fix. But of course you can also get it properly tailored and add some darts to fit the full back. I can’t wait to see what you do with it!

Overalls tend to go over lots of layers of clothing depending upon weather, so I would suggest putting in a draw string belt. You can cinch it to the correct level without having to deal with buttons or a regular belt. Great information on the new garage. And I'm chuckling regarding the lift comment. I'd just been thinking along those lines myself. A good block and tackle could help move things up or down as long as there is space to land the item(s) upstairs. If your woodworking shop stays downstairs you might not need a permanent way to haul heavy items upstairs. Looking forward to the next adventure!
