I'm glad you made this video. So many people are still worried about rinseless. I wash my truck and car looking as nasty or worse than this weekly in the winter (outside). Yes I did go to the coin wash to knock off the salt "chunks". But I do exactly what you do, just pre spray, use a foam sponge or mitt, both work totally fine.

edit: may be odd for some but... if its misting/drizzle using the sponge is much better than a mitt. The sponge tends to suck up everything as opposed to the mitt which just pushes everything around with the extra "liquid". I only know this because last weekend it was supposed to rain free and ended up raining 3/4 through the wash. Switched to the sponge and everything was good.

Another great rinseless teaching video guys! So on another video Yvan showed us a car drying trick. Using a smaller towel to get the majority of the water and then following up with the big waffle towel. If you use this method do you spray the drying aid on the car with the first smaller towel and finish with the waffle or do you spray the drying aid when you use the waffle to finish. Also can you use rinseless as a drying aid if the vehicle already has Ceramic Gloss on it from the last wash. Ceramic Gloss last a good while so why would you put it on every wash. Thanks!

Very cool video showing all you need is actually a little time and few products for professional level detailing. I know your take guys on unecessary chemicals (dedicated wheel cleaner as mentioned), but could you make a podcast on talking only about why these aren't necessary on your product line-up? I guess there's more for us to learn and understand and it would only help sell more DIYDetail products 😂

I use RINSELESS WASH in the winter or when I am lazy for a full wash with my pressure washer. I do just what you did here, spray it, wash it with a garden house, and do the contact wash. I do like foam canon and pressure washer more, maybe just it's because it's just more satisfactory but RINSELESS WASH is a real handy and you still get a great results.

@diydetailofficial
@diydetailofficial 9 ай бұрын
If you’re referring to the video comparing the stratification of 3 Rinseless washes, here’s our response. All 3 are good products and clean well, but the technologies are very different. What’s shown here is more attachment than encapsulation. A pure polymer rinseless attaches itself to the dirt, making it heavier than the water and sinking it down. With a surfactant based product, the dirt is emulsified, with any larger particles sinking to the bottom. With the DIY Detail Rinseless Wash we use both polymers and surfactants to accomplish our goal of cleaning the surface of the vehicle in the safest way possible. When polymers and surfactants are mixed, the surfactants win. To make this an accurate test( as opposed to a cool looking demonstration) first they should be diluted per instructions ( 256/1). Next is evaluating not how the water looks, but how clean the wash media is when leaving the wash bucket. In our R&D ( it was a 3 year process) how we evaluated our Rinseless was on how it cleaned the surface, not on how it separated in the bucket ( add oil to your glasses and it will also cause a similar effect). If you can find a sufficiently dirty white work truck, pre-spray the products on the surface, and evaluate how they lift the dirt off the surface. Next go over the same sized area with identical wash media. Return the wash media to the wash bucket. Remove the wash media from the bucket and observe how clean it is. Our goal was to have the cleanest surface, and also have the wash media returning to that surface be as clean as possible. With that said, they all work, but differently

Here's a key point y'all should mention in a video. The mental aspect of contact washing is this : With soap or foam, you hide the fact that you're moving a sponge or microfiber over a dirty panel, so you feel safer. With a rinseless, you actually see yourself moving a sponge or microfiber over a dirty panel, and this can be a hurdle making people shy away from rinseless. You have to remember that either way, a contact wash means you will drag your wash media over a dirty panel.

Thanks guys, very interesting. Just s question. I always thought the rinseless wash doesn’t need a hose as you teach in the past, and that was practically my religion as I doesn’t own a hose in my small garage in my condo. Do you say that DIY Rinseless Wash need to be rinsed always with a hose, or just in this case? ONR cleans well but I find it leaves a residue behind which is a pain when it comes to drying. You tube videos are fun to watch but you need to experiment on your own as well. Using restless wash outside in the sun when I use the legacy sponge what do I do to prevent it from drying too quick so I can use the ceramic gloss as the drying aid? And what happens if rinses wash dryers on the surface?

Wash one panel at a time

One panel at a time. But if it dries on the surface, no worries. What may look like water spots are actually polymer spots from the rinseless wash. Simply re-wet with rinseless and dry.

I may be missing something, if you are using a hose to rinse the car off before using the riseless wash then why wouldn't you just use regular soap and rinse it off again at the end.

for the love of God guys. Please stop saying 1 ounce and half an once and then 1 cap full per gallon. Why? Because your capful is only .37oz. Even the bottle says .5 or 1 ounce. Either update the bottle or formula if needed to match the 1 cap full or even better yet. PLEASE make the cap actually hold .5oz. In this very video if you put 4 cap fulls into that 4 gallons of water you are only at 1.48oz short by half an ounce. I did hear you say over diluting or under diluting is not good. See the issue here?

Interesting point. I think most people are not that exact and tend to over fill the cap. I personally tend to be exact and use a measuring scoop that is exactly 1oz.

Technically, I didn't think that was truly a rinseless wash because you rinsed off the pre-rinse/soak with a hose & water. I think a true rinseless wash consists of a bucket (or two) with water, a sprayer and product. The concept being that you can wash your car safely without the need for a hose and additional water. I get that it was a Porsche and it looked fairly dirty, but it still would've been nice to see a rinseless wash without rinsing with a garden hose. You even mentioned the fact that you didn't have a pressure washer which indicates that you feel the need to even pressure wash with your rinseless wash.

Rinseless has never been hoseless. Rinseless is about not rinsing after the contact wash.

Actually, it's Waterless Wash that we said not to use on a dirty car. We did a podcast about the differences between the two: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jHOQp6KojZmNY9E
