Converting a Garage Door Threshold into an Exterior Door with Window
In this video I’ll show you how I converted a garage door threshold into an exterior door and window for a bedroom in our unfinished basement. This includes leveling the garage threshold declination, framing studs, hanging the exterior door, hanging the window, installing a drip cap, trim, and siding, and pouring interior concrete to fill the gap to the new wall.
I’m finishing the basement in our 40 year old home, and videoing each step along the way to completing a future bedroom. I am NOT a pro - I'm just a self-sufficient DIYer and Weekend Warrior.
