Just ordered my door and was so happy to find this online. You answered some questions I was going to have to work out myself. My building was a mini home in it's earlier life and only has 8 foot ceilings so I didn't know if this would work for me. I just ordered a shorter door and all is well.

Where's everybody's comments? I love the door. Does it or rather, can it be locked, if needed? How heavy is it; I didn't get a long enough look at the paperwork. @Charles Grove the installer was missing the sill plate, so all the water ran down the door and into the shed. Hopefully it will get resolved when the sill Plat is installed.

I see you had trim around the door finished prior to installing. I do not have any of my trim done yet (using steel siding) but want to get the door installed asap. Will this be a problem? should I install the door trim before installing the door?

Check the manufacturer’s website. They should let you know how much clearance needed based on the type/size of door you are ordering

As a garage door tech what you did is very stupid and could have gotten both of you hurt extremely bad ....install guides to your jambs plumb and level then lift the curtain to the mounting brackets....

Hey Michael - I’m pretty sure our method is what the manufacturer recommends for the model door we were installing.
