Leveling Concrete for a Basement Bedroom
This is the first video in a series about finishing the basement in our 40-year-old home. Natural settling over the last 40 years has left the basement with a difference in concrete height of up to 3 inches from the edge to the center of this space, which would make it difficult to lay flooring over. In this video, we utilize a novel approach to leveling the concrete on a budget, with a combination of Quikrete and Concrete Self-Leveler. This drops the price tremendously without sacrificing quality.

Good idea on using the quikrete first. I'm going to attempt to make my own self-leveler to save even more money. Very fine sand, cement, some tile adhesive, and bonding agent should do the trick according to another video I watched.

OK cool - let me know how that goes! I'll be leveling another large space in the basement next and would consider a better approach if there is one out there!

Can you just use quikrete sand/topping mix? It's good down till 1/2.

Not sure - Ill have to check that out, because I have another space I need to do some more concrete leveling in.
