I inherited my childhood home but my life is 200 miles away. I had a contractor do some work, I then asked him to live there with his family as I trust him and he can fix things that break, He was living in a motor home. Mutually beneficial. I could have rented it or air bnb it but realistically, I feel better helping him and he helping me. Some day I want to live there again but for now, it's in good hands.

Doug, your true heart talk about that family brought me to tears. Thank you for caring the way you do. I’m an 82 year old widow who was left with having to pay off the mortgage to my double wide when my husband passed with no insurance and no money. I finally paid it off last month, paying since 2010, and feel the load is lifted from my shoulders. Now I plan to use some of that mortgage money payment to help others so they don’t have to struggle like I did. It was worth all the struggling to me. Now I can buy groceries I like instead of just what I can afford. YAY ! Praises . I can’t wait for the next video . Thank you for being here. I like to think of you as my son. I lost my son to a massive heart attack when he was 41 years old. I’m alone but never really alone. God has blessed me in all the trials. ❤

I like the sharing of possibilities. It’s way more interesting than the secretive “we’ll show you later”, or “you’ll see!” Even if you never do any of those plans, it’s much more engaging, and that’s what keeps me watching. I’ve got way too much trauma in my life to “wait and see” and my husband will never see, because he passed three weeks ago. Life is too short to wait. I’m looking for ideas and whatever kinds of inspiration I can find on the internet. Not that I expect you to inspire me, it’s my job to find inspiration in every day living. We were long time watchers snd I’ve never really understood why you worry over comments that “call you out” or say “you did it wrong.” So bloody what! You changed your minds or you learned a better way to do or not do something. I’ve only ever seen you guys Fail Up if you make a mistake or something doesn’t work out. There is not enough time in this life to waste on haters or to worry about people who don’t like you or your plans! Just be yourselves and do what you do! I love you for that! Blessings to you and your family!

I live next door to an old hospital. A local church bought it and is converting each room into a studio unit. They have a wait list for families having financial trouble who can move in rent free. All the families have to do is attend parenting and finance classes and save up 6 months of expenses then they graduate and move out. This is really helping our community keep kids safe and out of the system unnecessarily when all the family needs is a safety net. It is called River of Refuge if anyone is interested in the model to replicate it. I am excited for their next work day to help build some more units.

The reason the mobile home concept occurred is definitely honorable. Being concerned and caring is admirable. Eevee and Doug are genuine, nothing fake whatsoever. I haven't watched TV in years. Thanks for sharing Doug. No one has to read the rest of this, I just want to share. My BIL , may he RIP, had a heart of gold like Doug . The world lost something special in 2017. He went to Peru, S. America as often as he could afford to, at least once a year. He would take children's shoes, hot wheels and small dolls in his suitcases and then bring back items he bought from vendors in them. He helped build a radio station and a hospital there. He was in the process of building a single engine plane, so he could afford to go more often, when he was hit, head on, by a drunk driver. He was so smart, like Doug is. He knew carpentry, electrical work, and plumbing. He knew all about music and how all the equipment worked. He also played the piano beautifully. He was getting good at speaking Spanish also so he wouldn't need an interpreter anymore. It's nice to hear someone who sounds like he did. ❤️ Seeing children without shoes and playing with cans kept him up at night. I can't help but love this family.

Oh my gosh, I LOVED Maverick's outro comment! Your channel has turned into one of my favorite channels to watch BECAUSE of how you live, how you share with us, and what you do. I watch them all, with a few exceptions (I am not into cars that much, but I owned a Geo Metro once and I like listening to how it all came about). My Dad, in the years before he passed, had purchased several repo mobile homes and fixed them up. He rented them, but how his renters came to him were often stories not unlike your family at the grocery store you met. Yeah, he did get taken advantage of a few times, but he had a big heart and helped so many people. One time he came home and asked me if I had any clothes he could give away. I was curious. He had found a family in need and I rode along when he took clothes and potatoes and homemade jam we had farmed and canned. The next day we went back with some more things. And the kids were literally eating sliced raw potatoes with jam on them. I've never forgotten that.

Sometimes a physical place to stay a while till a deposit is saved for. Ive never ever had anyone trash my home or take advantage. Someone did it for me when i became a homeless teenager in London in the early 1980's. It gave me a bit of time and the chance to save to come home.
