I was going to say thanks for a project that didn't use a fancy special tool, then I remembered the band saw... More people have those than Laser CNCs... I do love the idea of the layers. In the olden days we would have done the whole job with the two knives 😂 Thanks for an entertaining video and I learned something! I usually learn a new trick or two from you.

Thanks Joe, in the old days I would use a router to carve out the back ground and then chisel that out. But this process is a much cleaner way. Thanks again for watching.

I make signs & freehand cut the letters into them using a router, I found that the paper can often blow off, come unstuck etc. A trick I use for getting the image onto the timber is print it out as mirror image, tape it face down at one end onto your work & then rub the back with thinners, this transfers a perfect ink image onto your workpiece, I only tape one end so that I can lift it to see how I'm going. Be careful to not get too heavy with the thinners otherwise the edges of the design will not be crisp, once you get the hang of it it's very easy.
