There's a trick. I saw a windshield repair guy use a match on the inside of the window after the equipment with the glue is already in place. You hold a match 1 inch away on the inside directly on the crack for 3 seconds, then pull it away for a second then three on then one off then three seconds a final time. What that does is heat up and expand the glass and as the glass cools off it yanks the glue deep into the cracks and hardens quickly. I've done this for lots of people, know you know the trick.

Just wanted to thank you for your demonstration of using this product, I got peppered by a darn tracker trailer hauling gravel, apparently he was out revenge or something as several of my coworkers all got the same treatment within a week! Ok anyway, I watched your video, and then ordered this product, I had 3 lovely little chips that had not spread, after using this product,, I cannot even see where the chips where! 😊 I live in Montana, where we are very prone to rocks finding there way to our windshields,,,it’s kinda a joke when you have cracks and chips in your windshield that it’s a typical MT windshield. I am also a lady, so anyone remotely handy should be able to do this. Thanks again.

Brought one of these kits here in the UK from my local Halfords car parts shop as I'd got a good size chip in my windscreen , followed the instructions and it worked brilliantly ... Canon even see where the chip was even under cols examination . Have brought some more bottles of glass resin and a UV light ( as the chip had been cured in good sunlight but this cannot be guaranteed so got the light ) so any future chips or other people's can be fixed .

Good video, the reviews on the websites are not reflecting the product quality so much as people not following the instructions or not being observant as to the resin chamber torque vs rubber seal engagement or because the pressure driver lifts the resin chamber off of the windshield, breaking the seal and losing the pressure needed to force the methacrylate adhesive into the crack lines and chip voids. I just repaired two cracks based on this video and my own observations and it took around 10 minutes per chip/crack location just to take a picture of the repaired damage (because it was so difficult to locate and identify). I used the car windshield defroster to warm up the windshield after leaving it in the sun before the repair. Moved it into the shade to do the repair, and kept the defroster running since the outside air temp was around 50F and it was clear that the crack lines were not being filled for the first 6+ minutes. After redoing the seal and the pressure driver and adding a few more drops within a few minutes it was definitely filling the crack lines and becoming difficult to see the old damage.

I just did this outside on a windy day. 😅 I had a thin beach umbrella to sheild from the neverending Texas sun, over the area for shade, which kept blowing inside out. All my clear films blew away. So put your kit inside your car. 😅. So far: Success. It is outside curing as we speak. Night and day difference. I did end up dripping the liquid over the area and have the plastic film that I hunted for and finally found. 😅

They put a bandaid on it today. Finally, something that just goes right. This is already my third windshield. Its Saturday. Work is finished. It almost invisible and a pair of Bosch wipers for free. Insurance did it all. The repairman also took the time to show me how to remove the wiper arms to repaint them properly.

I honestly don't remember but I think just a drop of resin and a curing strip on the little chips. If you can see an actual crack, then the plunger will help push the resin into the crack to fill the void and seal it from moisture. Hope this helps.

I used it on a 15" long crack along the bottom of a windshield and it has sealed it well. Not sure if that's the same as a temperature crack or not. It didn't make it disappear but it is less visible than before. Also it did seal it from moisture and stopped it from getting worse.

@@DIYHomesteadProjectsDIYHP10 how did this glue reach the crack when temperature cracks are from the inside in between the glass? Did you remove the windshield and do it??
@DIYHomesteadProjectsDIYHP10 Жыл бұрын
Apparently mine wasn't a "temperature crack". You'll need to apply the solution to what ever side the crack is open to for it to work. It has to be able to wick into the crack. If the crack does not go to the surface of the glass it won't work. I think if there is a crack its probably open to either the inside or outside surface of the windshield. I've personally never had one that doesn't go to one surface or another but maybe they do exist.

I lost my curing strip. Do I have to use one?
@DIYHomesteadProjectsDIYHP106 ай бұрын
I don't know I've never tried it without the curing strip. I would try it anyhow but it might be hard to keep the solution over the chip. I might even cutting a piece of a ziplock bag to lay over it until it cures then you can scrape it off with the solution. Just a thought but I've never tried it. I wish you the best. PS: my kit came with about 10 or 15 curing strips.

Nice video didn’t know if I was going to try this but you definitely had great info about it and make it look pretty easy so I’m gonna try it out thanks a bunch!👍

Glad the video helped you out. Mine is still holding up well and definitely worth the price of the product IMO!

I just bought a new car and there is a deep scratch on windshield but from the inside of the vehicle…. If I bought this and poured it over the scratch do you think it would fix it?
@DIYHomesteadProjectsDIYHP102 жыл бұрын
It's hard to say. You'll just have to decide if it's worth it to give it a try.

@@DIYHomesteadProjectsDIYHP10 fair enough. Just don’t want to make it worse I guess
@DIYHomesteadProjectsDIYHP102 жыл бұрын
I don't think it will make it worse. After the resin has set up with UV light, it can easily be scraped off the smooth surface of the glass with a razor blade. Depending on the depth of the scratch it might take a couple applications to completely fill it up.

It's been a year since you posted this video. is there any changes in this crack? How it handles the cold weather and the differences in the temperature? Ty.
@DIYHomesteadProjectsDIYHP102 жыл бұрын
The cracks all look the same as they did the day I repaired them. This vehicle has been through one winter and a Hot summer. I couldn't be more pleased with the results I have had with this product.

Chris Fix video uses a different product and used vacuum from a hypo to fill the crack, as an alternative.

What was the white tape you placed on the bigger Crack after you got all the resin off at the end of he video?
@DIYHomesteadProjectsDIYHP10 Жыл бұрын
Just a piece of tape so you can see the crack on the video.

Yes, the windshield still looks like it did the day I repaired the windshield. Definitely worth the price of the product!

Someone else said you had to drill a little on either side of the rack to truly keep it from spreading. He made another video on here about this. Did your spread by now even after u did this?
@DIYHomesteadProjectsDIYHP102 жыл бұрын
I did not drill any holes and mine is holding up well.

Do you have to have it in direct sunlight to cure
@DIYHomesteadProjectsDIYHP1011 ай бұрын
UV rays from the sun cure the solution so the more direct sunlight the better. You can also so use a UV light.
