This video covers several examples of preppers that won't survive. Many of them make the critical mistake of only focusing on one area of preparedness and neglecting the others.

While I agree with you on all these, the one you forgot would be the “advertiser prepper”. By telling people outside your trusted group that you have supplies you have put a target on your back.

I did that once. Talked to a neighbor I really liked. She has a couple of disabled adult sons. I was trying to be helpful to her, advising her to keep extra food for emergencies. She laughed and said she would come to my house if anything went wrong. She immediately wasn't my friend anymore. And a few years later, opportunity struck, and I moved 400 miles away. Now I don't tell anybody anything.

Forget the wildfires. Living in a rather large city, I had to leave my home years ago at about 5am on an extremely cold January morning because the neighbor's house was on fire. There were flames 75 ft in the air, and The firemen said they thought they were going to lose four homes that night. It doesn't take a big event to mean you need to leave your home. You better be ready to go anytime, I had 2 minutes.

Years ago I was talking to my brother-in-laws about a plan. We don't live that far apart and each have something to bring to the table. Well BIL #2 informed us that he has all the skills and doesn't need anyone. OK, good luck with that. I have the poultry, had the cattle but the good BIL got a few so I'm out of that game. I have the well, he has the skills and now both of my kids are adults and my son-in-law and his farming family are in our circle. I'm much older and not in the best of health so my main mission is to have a place they can run to. Still working on solar but I can house 4 families right now and can pick them up if gas goes bye bye. Survival isn't a solo adventure.

If lack of money is hindering the progress of your food stores, hit the dollar stores. Focus on canned goods (inspect the cans for perforations) and dry goods (inspect the package). I walked out of there with 8 bags of cans and dries and spent 52$. You can also get enough cookware to make your own mess kit(s). This is coming quickly, do as much as you can (no pun intended) to get ready.

During the Depression, when grandma was a little girl another classmate told her one day if your dog starts barking tonight don’t let your dad or brother go outside to the barn cause members of her family were coming out to steal some sheep and they were armed. The attack never happened but that family didn’t stay around long after that cause the community apparently forced them out. Lesson is if your found out to be a wolf prepper, you will will not be tolerated by others.

Wolf preppers will have a short lifespan... because even if they are heavily armed they are entering into houses or land unfamiliar to them. This means either the wolf prepper will either need to be heavily armored which means slow and ineffective in close combat with less visual view *OR* the head of the wolf prepper will be vulnerable to bullets into the head. The wolf prepper might step onto a bear trap, pit of wooden spikes, hidden horizontal electric fence, poisonous food trap, gas trap, fire trap, etc., etc., . During dangerous survival days every house a wolf prepper approaches could be the last day they are alive.

I love what Lilly the survivalist did. She has many points and places with stocked items. We would only be able to hold out so long before someone bigger comes along. Have a plan a, b and c. Don’t be afraid to fail. Fail and learn while you can. Live and learn. Have a bug out bag, have resources, have a plan at several locations. Think ahead. I am an avid hunter, does not mean our water and supplies will be ok. Have many plans . Your first plan may work temporarily, have two or 3 more for back up.

Awesome! Please keep saying this! No matter how well anyone preps, there are going to be things you didn't plan for. Your philosophy not only gives you the greatest number of options, it also keeps your mind open. Getting mentally locked into one scenario is too risky. And spend some time testing each one if possible. PTSD or mental shock can be a big problem - you can't sleep, can't plan, and maybe not eat. If "you've been there already" doing survival things aren't so stressful.

It doesn't matter how much you prep. If you don't have serious skills and a limitless supply of potable water, you're in for a rude awakening. Readers Digest published a book called Back To Basics. I started watching you about a year ago so I was behind the times but I have really stepped up my game although so many just look at me and say oh I save back food, but go to there homes and they have minimal food in their pantries. I started buying totes, started freezing my beans for a few days, taking them out and drying them and putting them in better containers (mylar bags). Stocking up on rice, dry milk, water, can foods, meats like hams that have a good shelf life ( although I don't eat meat) sugar, coffee, creamers, flour and cornmeal mix. Putting all of that in mylar bags. I have a backpack loaded with aspirin, ibuprofen (those I rotate before expiration dates) bandages, bandaids, alcohol, triple antibiotic, hydrogen peroxide, ect., I have a list of what is in the backpack and expiration date in a Ziploc bag in side pocket. I have a small skillet, dutch oven, a small bbq grill and I have the propane stove with propane, bathroom essentials, water purifier, matches, and lighters. I've been a low key prepper for a long time. As another poster stated, we don't have the same level of threats here in the 🇬🇧. However, in recent months I've become more sensitised to building tensions on the planetary scale. Realised I needed to step up my preps. Bought a lot of 'stuff' online. But being disorganised by nature a lot of the stuff just sat in boxes all over the house. Underfoot and in the way. Things came to a head and I just had to get stuck in. I've found a place/space to dedicate to preps, bought several racks and I do believe I will be sorted in a week. I'm already finding 'stuff' I'd forgotten about. 😆 I'm beginning to feel a lot calmer, less anxious. Which would be good if I hadn't experienced the same sensation in November 2019.

Becarefuo what you post and don't leave info in your bio on here. We have attracted some fools who are stalking preppers, first rule of preparing, be ready for fools. Nothing will be more of an issue then other people. Prepare your body and your mind, above all your spirit, hope and health are two biggest preps, without them we are doing nothing but stockpiling stuff, well I don't bother, I can hunt and fish , and I have plant life all around me, so I dint need that stuff. Spend your time getting stronger, eat right, train and cardio is always first. What is going to happen , is going to happen. Hopefully it's not that bad and we all come out alright. I'm expecting some belt tightening , but hopefully that's all. If it's worse all we can do is pray and be as fit and healthy when we walk in as possible. Find people you trust and surround yourself, doing this alone isn't going to workout for most people. If you can find a water source, find food you can eat that grows wild, plant some food, learn to fish and hunt, and above all learn to evade , fighting isn't always best , learn where you can go and hide if you must. Make plans, then make more plans , the practice them over and over until you can do it in the dark or with your eyes closed.

I had honestly put bugging out pretty low on my list, but as im in sweden and the whole nuke threat and/or NPP accident (zaporizjzja) possibility in europe, i had to seriously rethink my plans. Longer periods of uneployment (or working starvation wage jobs) made me aquire alot of my preps on a less than shoestring budget but over a period of 20 years, free stuff here and there, 2nd hand store, random sale like picking up a big storm kitchen set for 1€. We did a preparedness test a few days after the "spezial operation" news hit and took notes on what we needed to improve but overall a sound pass, since the weather was wet and snowy but we managed to make a fire and cook food.

In our extended family we all kind of have different interests, so it works out well. Some of us are more interested in food - gardening, preserving, cooking from scratch, etc., others are interested in first aid & medicine, herbs and stuff, a couple are into camping and backpacking, one has firearms as a hobby, one likes archery, and we have people with different occupations and knowledge sets as well as hobbies... electrician, medical person, ex-military, etc.. Something that I haven’t seen anyone mention on what to prep is condoms and pregnancy tests. The last thing you want in a survival situation is getting pregnant. But if there is even a chance that you will get pregnant, stock up on baby supplies. You don’t want to end up having a baby and be left wondering how you are going to diaper, clothe, and feed them if you can’t breastfeed. Also try to have someone with medical experience in your group. While it’s good practice anyway, you won’t want to be giving birth without anyone who knows how to help. Since I’m the only one in my group who can get pregnant, my husband and I are making a big effort to stockpile baby supplies just in case

I am not the best advisor here but if anything If you are the prepper who says that you don't have the " funds or time" Then continue watching videos like these This channel has awesome prepping and survival advice I will still start off very cheap and small Like for instance cheap rural wooded land Seeds /long shelf life food / meds / hygiene/ tools/ generators / solar generators/ pet stuff / baby stuff/ rain water purification system etc.... Build a small cabin to fit you or your family and pets Invest maybe in some hunting, prepping, survival, first aid, farming , gardening and shooting manuals. Getting physically, emotionally, mentally, spiritually, fit Tuff sheds are not the best option but lets say you are running out of time a cheap good investment better than nothing at all untill you can get better .

I’ve lived in Alaska both city and rural, California rural, Washington rural and Nevada city and rural, I recently moved to the south and I have never seen a community so concerned with the wellbeing of others. I have had random people just show up and give us eggs, vegetables, venison. It is a small, very small town of good people, and I have no doubt that this community will band together in a collapse. I used to be the gung-ho guy itching for a gun fight but as I’m approaching 50 and have seen the disgusting results of gun battles I do not feel the same way but remain prepared for defense. My biggest most important preps are making sure my kids are self sufficient with a broad range of skills. My youngest is becoming quite the tracker and hunter/mechanic/ welder along with minor skills. I am not far from my golden years I understand I am not the future they are. I will continue learning skills and teaching them to my kids though

I worked with survivors of the Holocaust. The people that survived were those who saw the Holocaust coming and repositioned themselves to safety away of the Nazis. Those who wound up in concentrationcamps, those who survived were those who were of use to the Nazis and didn't get themselves in trouble (those that were invisible to the Nazis but visible and present for those of good and social demeanor). Then there were those who would go underground and hide themselves in various ways. In the Netherlands it didn't help if you helped the Nazis, as these colloborators would usually also get send to the concentrationcamps after the first were send there. The strong would die first, as these would want to protect the others. Outside the concentrationcamps, it were the mothers who would survive in rural places because these had food supplies growing in the fields. Children often would die of starvation and men would die in the war. The main reasons for survival was being able to sustain yourself and not be a threat to others and not having something that would focus attention on themselves. With natural disasters, you have to be gone when the disaster comes about. Rich people cannot get moving quickly, because of having to forgo their riches and possessions. One important thing: People that have a good relationship with God and fellow man, usually survive, because they are open for correction, supporting and being supported and open for redirection. Greed, pride and evil disposition kills when the tide turns.

You forgot the Utah Mormon pepper. Ever since the Great Johnny Carson toilet paper disaster, Mormons didn't even worry when Covid hoarders cleared out grocery stores for months because under the stairs was a years supply of toilet paper. As far as food goes, we have been storing a year's supply (sometimes 3 years) for long enough to learn to use the older first so you keep it unexpired. Even the 25 year freeze dried needs to be used before it gets to old to eat. We usually store 5 gallon water containers with distilled water rotated to keep it drinkable. YES WE ARE GOING TO DIE, that's the way the road goes!

If you bring other preppers into your group that are less prepped than you are- no matter what their skill set might be- they use up valuable resources fast. I have a small family of 7 with grand coming each year. I guess that essentially takes away my Lone Ranger/Wolf status. My own family has not taken this as seriously as I have- thus they've made no financial sacrifices. If and when it comes- it will be a guaranteed mess.

A few bags of flour, and salt per month are cheap. Rice is also cheap. Stocking it will be good barter and personal use. Hard tack is easy to make. Dont have money for a water purification device? A milbank bag is cheap and better than nothing. Sift and boil. A life straw or sawyer mini are inexpensive and again, better than drinking raw sewage. Those are just some ground level suggestions for beginning that won't break your bank. Then save up for better. The big thing you mentioned are skills. Barter. No man can be an island. In 2004 we had prepped for hurricane Charlie...even though it was supposed to be a cat 1 hitting Tampa, and hour north of us...it wobbled and tripled and hit us at dead center as a cat 5...then, there were three more within a month. No power no water etc etc. we did have enough..made coffee for the entire neighborhood...but realized we were far from ready for a large scale issue. Started then...never stopped. Were always weapon enthusiasts, for us date day is a day at the range...but in 2016 with the fear of the other person winning we did double down on lead. Now, its a full circle daily chore. We grow most our own food, food for our ducks and chickens..have back ups to our back ups..Can actually spend on luxery items, We use everything we stock..we have a small group..family members and one couple that we invited after they knew nothing about what we had..decided to show us what they had... Everyone will have a job...husbands last few years in the Army he taught situational awareness...check. Brother in law is a retired paramedic check..my brother can build anything from anything and fix anything..check. Mama is 86..she can sew and cheerlead...neighbor we invited is a mechanic check. I can, garden and raise the poultry...and can. Everyone is an excellent shot... There might be gaps, but I think we have a good base. we do have a bug out...and it is stocked...but it is the last resort. I fear strangers..

Guns aren't necessarily "more exciting", they're an equalizer. You have multiple looters with just bludgeoning weapons, one person can take care of the issue. The major problem with the 'gun nut prepper' is that they forget they have only two hands and can only carry so much. It's pointless to collect dozens of firearms when you can only realistically use on average two or three at a time. All that happens if you have too many guns is you become a loot box for bandits, thus causing massive problems for everyone else still alive. Only collect firearms if you plan on distributing them to trusted people.

You have to be well-rounded as a prepper in order to have a chance to survive for any extended period of time if you want to survive the end of days.

It's great to have supplies/food , medication ,water ,ECT enough to last at least six months to a year.If the world truly went south no amount of prepping will be enough to sustain a family. The best prepping anyone can do is get your soul ready for your own end Jesus will come soon.

Being multi-faceted in a SHTF situation is important, too. Different types of storage and preparation and utilizing certain tools will be vital. Just as important, is survival in different locations. Of course wilderness survival is good, but many of us live in urban/urban-suburban/suburban environments. Those carry a slightly different set of requirements than the rural/homestead/wilderness types will immediately need for survival.

I think about these scenarios quite a bit. Last year I bought 3.5 acres of vacant land but it has a septic tank and water and electric on it because there was an old mobile home there at one time. The main reason I bought it was because it has a good size clear pond which I can use to water a garden etc. My best friend thinks I am crazy wasting money prepping. Just keeps saying God will either take care of us or take us out of this world. Anyway I think the BIGGEST threat would be marauders as he described. I don't know how you will get around those groups.

You are absolutely, and without a doubt not crazy. I bought such a place myself and am actually now residing on it. Best decision I ever made.

I believe as your best friend does, however .... that doesn't mean we're not supposed to be vigilant, active, aware, and productive every day of our lives. God takes care of His children, but He never said to ignore the signs of the times ... Jesus actually shamed the Pharisees for being able to tell the signs of weather, but the NOT the signs of the times and respond ACCORDINGLY. That's just my take. Waiting on Jesus, but doing the work down here today that is in front of me.

God put us in this life and it's our responsibility to do all we can to remain here.
