On a queen bed I use a twin sized comforter as the lower quilt. Turn the twin so the length is used as the width. It works beautifully

Great video! Gorgeous bed! Gotta go fix my beds now!!! A Nice tip, before making your bed for the day after waking, walk away. Go make coffee, go wash up, leave it. This allows your sheets to air our. Also helps get rid of dead skin cells trapped all night. You could also dust off bed, use mattress vacuum. (Kiva recommends a good one)

I have never seen ties and loops on a quilt or its cover in Australia nor in the 2 years I lived in England. It must be a North American thing but what a great idea! The complaints I saw on the Ikea site about their not having ties, now make sense. I must admit I was thinking "what are you talking/writing about?"

There are so many differences in how beds are dressed/made across countries. Different names for things too. For eg, What is the difference between a quilt and a duvet?! These ties in the corners are genius! Never seen them before. Often in Europe you get blankets and sheets instead of a duvet which I hate. Endless fun 😂
@bihsaidwhatnow2392 Жыл бұрын
Hold Up. . . .I lived in Germany and France for a minute and a duvet in Europe and America are the same. . . .a Duvet COVER (ties/buttons) is what KB is demonstrating.
@tigq1430 Жыл бұрын
Bedspread = a covering, not intended to sleep under, sometimes a blanket under. Quilt = very decorative piece (sometimes with story behind designs) can be slept under or not. can be hung on wall as art Blanket = used to keep ones self warm. Many shapes, sizes, thickness, decorations and uses Duvet = two sheets sewn together to insert a comforter. Comforter = a big fluffy blanket. With love, from me in America @ 7am✌💜
@gemmastone2202 Жыл бұрын
For us in the UK, the duvet is the fluffy thick bit, which has a duvet cover on. Some people would call that a quilt I think, but that might be more northern UK. During winter if it’s cold you might layer a blanket, or a bedspread (a thicker blanket) over the top of your duvet. But I think this would’ve all been different 50 years ago, different names and habits. I find it quite nerdishly interesting 🧐

One way to "steam" your sheets without steaming them is to put the sheets on the bed when they aren't fully dry - not wet, not even really all that damp, but just not completely dry, or even just lightly mist them with a bit of water if they are already dry. Tuck them in like you normally would and any wrinkles will "iron" themselves out as they finish drying. Once the sheets are finished drying (you'll be able to tell by how nice and wrinkle free the sheets are), finish making the bed how you like. Enjoy your smooth, smooth sheets and pleasant dreams y'all. 😉

I enjoyed your video. I too am not a fan of ironing sheets. The alternative down duvet link you provided shows an 'oversized king' option, which is how you can get a better tuck than reg king size. The Company Store sells oversized king flat sheets and comfoters which have a better drape/tuck and is a must for couples. Thanks a bunch

I love the look of a layered bed but living in Fl i don't like the extra weight and heat. Instead of a quilt at the end of the bed, I use a bed scarf in a velvet fabric to add color and a luxurious fabric without a lot of weight.

That bed would look lovely for about five minutes after I get into that room. Then the pillow throwing and quilt flipping begins! My thing is I love feather beds, I have two really thick ones layered on my bed. If you aren't struggle bunny rolling to get out in the morning, you need another featherbed.

It looked like she had a top sheet on there. She was tucking it with the spoon, a fitted sheet wouldn’t have to be tucked. She was pointing out the wrinkles at the top and saying they be hidden although, if you have a duvet, most people don’t use the top sheet with the duvet.
