Your cost is in line with the $1400 quote I received to have a system installed using my existing sump basin and they are going to tap another location in our basement to pull from. Will be installed in the next week.

I had a radon business give me an estimate. They said I needed a 20 mil plastic. I have a 6 mil plastic already laid. The cost estimate was $3,750.00. He said I must pay him in full after the installation. My question is how do I know the installation is effective? If I already pay him and then check the level in a month what if it isn't going the job? I don't want to be ripped off. I asked if I could pay him half now and then the other half after the radon level is proven to go down. Am I being unreasonable? I have been ripped off so many times for other work that I fear it will happen again.

For us, we already had the proper size pipe for code installed which made the price a bit friendlier. We used SWAT, have you gotten a quote from SWAT?

@@DIYwithMichaelBorders You just saved me $2,000.00!!!! I called SWAT. The 2 businesses lied to me. I didn't need 20 mil plastic for $2,600.00. SWAT also gave me 2 discounts. The SWAT rep. spent 30 minutes explaining what I needed. Very professional. They're coming in 2 days to do the job. The other businesses said 2 weeks.
