Kayak Fishing for Halibut in Tomales Bay (Net Gaffe)

I headed out to Tomales Bay to catch some Halibut on the kayak. My GF and friend paddled across the bay on paddle-boards and we had lunch on the beach before I headed back to the fishing grounds. I was able to get into some halibut action but had a net gaffe that almost lost me a fish! Thanks for watching!

Great seeing you posting again Matt! Love watching you catch the flatties on jigs! Time for a net upgrade anyway-need to get the small mesh rubber coated to prevent the fin splitting. Cheers!

Thanks Tim! It’s so fun to catch them on the jig. If they’re undersized I unhook them in the water to avoid the tail split. Gotta let those lil guys grow so we can eat them next year 😆
