Cozy Quilt Designs developed the strip tube idea and they have a special ruler called the Strip Tube Ruler that cuts all sizes of half square triangles.

Hi from Connecticut I really like this quilt pattern. I have the Clearly Slotted Ruler. I went in my sewing room to check and I’ve use the ruler but got some reason never noticed it slits to cut the dog ears. Amazing guess I was concentrating on the cutting line. LOL Enjoyed your video. 😊

You can save fabric in the strip sets by cutting the entire length first THEN go back and use the tool to cut off the dog ears.

Love the pattern Brody but if you use half squares for the setting triangles then you end up with a bias edge all round the outside which will stretch like a B*** when you add the borders or quilt it - particularly if using a domestic machine. Half squares for all four corners is fine - for the sides use a bigger square and cut it into four diagonally - then the straight of grain is at the edge and won't stretch - fabric engineering dude!

That is a piecing only machine. It does straight stitch and does it fast!

Mary Buchholz would be good to use a cutting mat that turns. Every time you move the fabric, it distorts slightly.
