In this clip, Las Vegas rapper Dizzy Wright talks about his upbringing and the lessons he learned from his mother growing up. Dizzy details how he moved quite a bit growing up due to his mother's pursuit of a career in the music industry. He said his father served a 20-year prison sentence after someone cooperated with law enforcement to lower their sentence and Dizzy's dad was caught in the fray. Dizzy goes on to discuss how his mother was left to raise 5 kids on her and her endless drive to make them [Dizzy and his brothers] into music stars. She used her experience as a former tour manager for Bone Thugs in addition to experience as a publicist to help groom Dizzy. But early on, Dizzy wanted to play basketball which he said caused friction in the household. Dizzy ultimately looks back on what he characterizes as a dysfunctional upbringing, both at home and in the music business and found a way to manufacture some success.
