What these guys don't admit is that when they rap about their past, they don't rap about it in a negative light. So it may be their past, but the glamorization of it leads to someone else's future. And then the self destructive cycle continue. You might hate it to admit it, but rap encourages violence.

You summed it up perfectly! I’ve got no issue with rappers using their past as inspiration for the art, but there’s little to no balance! You can’t only rap about how you’re out here hitting licks and spinning blocks and then never rap about the time you had to spend in prison as a result. At that point it’s dishonest storytelling

@@joshuasutton983 that’s true, but on the other end is an artist not responsible for what they put out and glamorize through their art? I think it’s a strong message coming from him especially. There’s no doubt that rap should be taken as entertainment rather than lifestyle, but I do agree that in order for people to take 21 seriously, he’s gotta acknowledge that some of the music’s content has had the power to influence impressionable minds with no real mentor figures. If he can do that, whether it’s in the music or otherwise, I think it’ll be way better received, because he’s right, the violence needs to end 💯

@@OBsurdityTV none of them relate to what 21 is saying. Just like grand theft auto, they'll play it , but there much less likely to have to attempt something like that in real life. Could be social, economic structure or just plain old environment. But there's a reason one group buys more tickets than the other disregarding the genre. The artist don't speak on things that portray those white lives, they do to those that are in the hood. A sense of rebellion, and ofcourse the most eager ones to act out would be the ones who don't have the capacity to understand right from wrong from a moral or objective standpoint. If the person you're listening to is telling you the bad things you're doing is okay and they're successful, they listen to be like them one day. It's all designed purposely. To lead the blind to pitch black while robbing them and to judge them while knowing they come from the same upbringing as these artists.

We need to understand what we call "entertainment" is actually mental programming and they tell you on TV and newspapers" the following program is rated" ..etc

Atlanta barely has 100 homicides as of August. Chicago had 800 last year & Philly is at 400 homicides.

The MAIN problem that I believe people have with his whole “y’all wouldn’t do an actor like that” comparison is that…we, as the audience KNOW that it’s a movie, therefore we KNOW that’s it’s fake!..we also know that the actors are getting paid to portray a certain image in their movies and when they’re done with that movie they go back to being themselves…the difference with these rappers is that MOST of em try to really ACT like they’re living a certain life and WANT people to believe that they are this gangster who don’t give a fuck about nobody, and will “wet your mama house, wet your grandma house and keep shooting till somebody die” that’s the problem!!

Facts! Actors and street rappers aren’t even comparable smh I hate when hey say that shit lol 😆 Street rappers want ppl to believe that shit they rap about is really them and music is more influential than movies!

Omg ik I wasn’t in the twilight zone… I said the EXACT SAME THING… and video games are cartoons… it may provide simulated trills of street life but like actors it’s back to reality!

Just some game for ya real quick... this is why they say the rap game like the dope game because the amount of people that it's going to harm are detrimental numbers as opposed to the amount of people that benefit from it
