I heavily disagree with Ice. WATTBA def felt like a Future project guest starring Drake. And while Her Loss def feels like a Drake project guest starring 21, there’s a cohesion there that WATTBA lacks. It sounds like Drake and 21 actually collaborated on songs and concepts.

What's crazy is I vividly remember basically everyone with a platform back then saying WATTBA was Future leftovers from DS2...bc remember he dropped DS2 LITERALLY all of 3 months prior to WATTBA....we also know it was a Future album bc none other than Metro Boomin produced like 8 outta 11 tracks...as you perfectly stated you can hear the cohesion between 21 n Drake

@@JayFingers That’s not factually incorrect because that’s what happened essentially but it still seems like a Misrepresentation. Drake went to Future’s studio to record a couple of tracks due to their productivity and chemistry they created WATTBA. Drake dominates the tracks statistically and based on impact. I don’t think the entire recording process exceeded 2 weeks everything happened organically. This seems like an attempt to revise History. What A Time to be Alive sounds like a collaborative effort between Drake and Future. Does Watch The Throne sound like Jay-Z rapping over Kanye Beats to you ?

@@DualityUnlimited I’m never one for revisionist history, and I don’t think what I’m saying mischaracterizes the original or current perception of WATTBA at all. If you go back and read reviews for it when it dropped, what I’ve said here was a common widespread criticism. Did the project slap? IMO, yes. Did the chemistry between the two feel organic? For the most part, no. Also, I don’t think your Watch the Throne comparison is analogous. Kanye was an architect of Rocafella’s later sound and aesthetic, so yes, much of that album sounds like Jay (and Ye) over Ye’s production.
