Hey Rick. I have a set of the LD Icoa 18 subs and they sound pretty great with the srx815p (crossed at 100) imo. I also have the Maui 44 G2 for about 2 years and love them for smaller events.

The ld icoa 15a is a £400 speakerand I think that it is the best speaker in that price range

Hey Rick! Have you considered Mackie SRM212 V-class? Ran 2 tops and 2 SR18s subs for a 700+ high school dance. Ran them at about 75% on the mackie profx6v3. Plenty of sound. Side note: was told to expect 400 students, not nearly 800. Or else I would have brought twice as much sound!

How do you like your new RCF NXL24 speakers? Do they pair well with the Icoa subs? I used to have the 1st gen ones and they were awesome, but had to be used with subs at all times.

Yes maui 44 g2 wins just barely with a little more clarity and deeper low end. Both are solid tho

Can you control your subs vs the tops on those maui's though? I use a qu-pac for my point source and I couldn't imagine not having complete control over each...similar to your driverack usage using the JBL's.

Yes seprate volume controls on the back for subs vs tops

@@DJRickWeb Totally. I more meant being able to independently control the speaker as if it's 2 separate speakers...a sub and a top. So you can plug a digital mixer (like a qu-pac) into 2 separate inputs....top input and sub input. That way you can dial in your own crossover/eq/etc.

​@rjpimprov they have two independent volume controls but only a two line inputs. The sub has its own dsp hence one of the best sounding column array. You won't be able to eq the column or the sub independently but you can eq the whole signal if wanted by external mixer. LD teased a new product line coming with inbuilt mixer

Do you do any real sound events? Something that you didn’t use column arrays? While I do agree that the Maui 44 sound good, I’d only use them for small events. You seem to be bothered by loud sound, I find that weird, I guess it must be a southern thing, but then again John Simmons is from the south and god knows he has incredible sound. Hmmm don’t know. It must be you!!!!!

Not bothered by loud sound. More clarity. But my company is focused on more corprate level AV. More distributed audio solutions not heavy front stage.
