Nope even better you just need a donner transmitter. All the lights have receivers built into them that work with the donner transmitter.

Yes but no. Due to the proximity of the ceiling it will be similar output wise. Were not going for mega bass. Just a even bass output that matches the ceiling speakers

I dont like the sound of a sub in the rafters big liability i get a Gc is making a safe base but u might wanna keep those on the ground and talk them into more acoustic sound proofing due to the echo not to Rick tell you what to do bc your a very smart guy . im glad to see your back to work.

Subs are hanged in rafters all the time man. It's not a new thing for me. Been on multiple installs hanging way heavier speakers. I'll have multiple safety cables in place if his base fails. Oh and yeah never mentioned it but we will be adding sound dampening panels as we get closer to finishing the building.

Just an Idea: If you got problems with such an room with to much echo. You can turn up the echo even more on your mixer until it sounds like shit before the show for example with the cocktail music etc.(but slowly) And if you start you main track turn down the echo so it will sound like the room is really clean and punchy.

I think a good discussion amongst DJs would be what would happen if you found out an event you did was a super spreader event. If even 1 person is spreading during an indoor event like this and they are jumping and shouting, they likely would spread it to multiple people. 1) If we are not masked the entire event, it puts us at risk. The normal 6 foot social distancing rule is blown out of the water when people are singing and screaming. I believe they can sread water droplets up to 15 feet or so at that point. 2) Would you feel responsible in any way if multiple people caught Covid 19 and perhaps even a few died at an event you Dj'd? I have an event in August that i booked last year and I can't stop thinking about any of this. I feel like it is way too early. I am in Florida where 10,000 plus people are testing positive daily. Am I the only one worrying about any of this?

It's not your responsibility. Everything surrounding this issue it comes down to people actively choosing to protect themselves or not. You as the DJ do not control that. It's similar to the mask guidelines. The government can tell everyone to wear a mask but the police cant write tickets for people not wearing them.

Hey Rick, Great to have you back, though I have no idea how you're allowed to DJ at present. In the UK we're not even allowed to sing (seriously). I know you're holding back on the Chinese lights and I know every other post is asking what they are..(don't they read previous posts??). I had a chat with the guys at Both Lighting who were very quick to respond (within a minute) and if anyone is interested the wireless LED 6 x 18W 6 in 1 battery powered wireless DMX flat Pars come in a flight case of 10 for $1320 (£1060). There are others including 3 x18W battery powered LED DMX uplights with IRC remote, also in a flight case with 10 units for $870 (£700). Both prices include shipping to UK and come in a choice of black or white. I'll hold back on what you've got to say about them before I invest. Stay safe people.

Horrific echo chamber. not only terrible for music, but also terrible for conversation and atmosphere. I would’ve seen that potential problem from the high ceilings right at the beginning. Also, if it is a permanent event space, truss and lighting (moving heads and washes) should’ve been installed on the ceiling, wired to a lighting desk.
