Old recording from what seems like an old cell phone and still destroys it. Imo top 3 male vocalists. Don’t think you’ve done it yet so I’ll suggest, What Are You Listening Too- live . Was one of his first big songs and his songwriting on this track is next level.

The thing that I notice when watching him sing a song, any song, is how present he is. He doesn't know how to phone in the lyrics. He puts so much emotion into every word that a person can't help but feel it too. With Chris it doesn't matter what genre his songs fall into, fans are going to appreciate his entire catalog from his blue grass days with the Steeldrivers, to his rock days with the Jompson Brothers and everything since. Great reaction as always!

I always tell people the audio quality on this one starts bad... but then Chris gets serious and blows out every eardrum in the audience. Notice how the audience is paying no attention and how quick that changes.

This was at the Bing Lounge. He was in the audience as a customer. Someone recognized him and the invited him up on stage. The guitar wasn’t his - it was a loaner. But as always, Fire!

This recording was made on a cruise for singers & songwriters. You can find it when he sang it with the Jompson Brothers band, too. During the years he earned a living as a songwriter - before his wife, Morgan, convinced him he should record his own stuff - he sang as a side hustle with 2 bands. The Steele Drivers (Jeff Steele) which is country & the Jompson Brothers which is country rock. There wasn't actually anybody named Jompson in the band.

Since you liked this early Chris, here are a couple more I know you'd like, too: Sandy Beaches Cruise 12 - "Ain't No Way This Love Is Wrong" & "Fool Me Again"; Steeldrivers with CS - "Midnight Train To Memphis". Another I'd like to hear your reaction to is "Can You Run?" Chris wrote this. I've watched 4 black reactors listen to this. Three of them just head-bobbed & only commented on the music. Only 1 commented on the lyrics. Chris is an intelligent man & it's an insightful song.

Best reaction channel! You've got a good spirit! "Without your love" is No bells and whistles. You get to see a slow build up to an overall powerful song. "Steeldrivers" (bluegrass) and "The Jompson Brothers" (rock) are bands Chris used to be in. "Can you Run" & "Rainbows Never Die" "Good Corn Liquor" are under the radar. Hope you check them out.
