However, I went with Boethiah as I feel that their personality aligns a bit more, over more facets (not just the one). Not only did Boethiah allegedly eat Trinimac, and are known to enjoy being violent and sadistic, but they are known to change their gender, and (while it's not exactly the same) I think that somewhat aligns with Dahmer's sexuality, which is also a part of his identity as a serial killer; for better, or worse.

I'm actually not sure if Dagoth Ur himself is considered an Ash Vampire, that's a good lore question. But Ash Vampires aren't in any way related to actual undead vampires. They're Dagoth Ur's brothers, and they're either tethered to him or to the Heart itself, so they're technically not even undead. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if the term "Ash Vampire" was created as an intentional misnomer/dig by the Tribunal Temple. You know, said with a dismissive attitude like, "They thrive in Red Mountain, they feed off the ash - they're just Ash Vampires." I dunno. That's my guess but there might be a better lore explanation out there. Been a minute since I nerded out on TES III. I write a lot of these based on my memory of the lore tidbits.

Dagoth is angry because Azura beat the Chimer with the ugly stck until it broke. . .and it's not like they didn't deserve it. They enslaved a whole race and was told to ease up or just stop doing it. The Chimer then in an act of complete audacity and arrogance dared to play the victim card when their 'farm tools' had enough and fought back hard. The final straw of course the Chimer turning their backs on the Tribunial. Also while someone can say Azura and the rest aren't gods, one can't deny they are very, VERY powerful being to the point that many of them are reality warpers to some degree. I think it's not unbelieving of a god that gets people in trouble but the questioning of these beings power. It's not so much the Chimer doubted the Tribunial's godhood but rather their power. . .and since the other two members of the Tribunial are sadistic sociopaths who get off on murder, the Chimer turned Dunmer should be thankful that it was Azura who had the final say in the punishment instead of those two.

All jokes aside, our depiction of Dagoth Ur as cartoonishly lacking in any self-awareness is actually somewhat grounded in lore. I mean, yeah, we exaggerate it to the point of making him really fucking dumb (and we have no intent of toning that down 😂), but in-game Dagoth is completely delusional. He's called the False Dreamer for a reason. Without diving into the lore too heavily, Dagoth Ur essentially believes he is lucid dreaming the universe into existence. That's why he regards himself as the one true god. The conscious actor. He perceives the other gods - be they Aedra, Daedra, or otherwise - as fragments of his own dream. Hence, he disregards their claims to godhood, no matter how powerful they are. It also explains his weirdly calm and condescending attitude when talking to the protagonist in TES III. He's essentially trying to purge aspects of his dream that he doesn't like, and whether the Nerevarine is truly the reincarnation of Indoril Nerevar or not is almost irrelevant to him - aside from being an interesting tidbit of information in the storyline of his lucid dream. He views the Nerevarine as yet another NPC lacking in any real consciousness. And that's why he drops that fucking beautifully iconic line "I'm a god. How can you kill a god? What a grand and intoxicating ignorance!" He pretty much thinks he's looking at a videogame character trying to kill him, the videogame player, through the screen of a television. And it's almost endearing to him. Charmingly naïve. Also you're referring to the Good Deadra/Anticipations/Reclamations, not the Tribunal.
