I honestly love the sound of the propulsion systems on these trains.

BNYWTrains Its really too bad that they are planning to retire the majority of MR-63s this year with the arrival of the Azur, hopefully the last ones standing are the element 41 and 42 trains, really the most iconic sounds of the STM metro system. But if I am not mistaking a lot of the current MR-73s on the Blue/Orange line will be making their way over to the green/yellow line as there is a way higher vandalism rate on the green line especially, I dont think they would be caught dead putting new trains on the green line.

Well in fact the Jeumont trains were the first to get retired :(

Mexico City's Metro used to have trains that sounded like that, the MP-82 built by Alstom. But they upgraded the traction systems and they don't sound like that anymore
@DJHTransport8 жыл бұрын
+Metrini Naranjoide That's a shame. There isn't a lot of rolling stock left that uses 1980s era DC chopper technology.
@WhitewalkerII8 жыл бұрын

México City Subway's MP-82 used to have the same chopper propulsion as this train before it's original manufacturer ALSTOM puts a newer chopper propulsion on the MP-82, MP-68 & NM-73.

Man these are definitely prototype Jeumont choppers, one can even hear them when it slows down. I will definitely pay a lot more attention, if I have the opportunity, I dont take the metro often and the azur is coming in two days. I kind feel nostalgic even though I didn't felt any previous attachement to the metro.

Elements 41 and 42, were the first to be scrapped as they we’re the most unreliable and they could only be operated in the middle of the train.
