Life is short. Get the Air 2S.😅 Kidding aside, I didn’t hesitate to upgrade from my Mavic Air 2 to the Air 2S ‘cause of that 1-inch sensor camera and boy was it worth it? Absolutely, yes!!!

I sold my Mavic 2 Pro for the Air 2 S. Portability is important for me. The only thing I feel I am missing from the M2P is the side obstical avoidance which for me is not big of a deal. This is an amazing drone and happy I went for it. M3P could take ages, I personally don't think we will see it until March next year. But when it does come out, it will be a beast and worth the wait.

A lot of features have limitation in Air2s. Less Flight time, see props in 5.4k limitation ISO in Dlog, limitation of Zoom and Transmission Display lag, focus problem and more...

On another note, I found the adjustable aperture to help a great deal! It allowed me not to have to bring the drone down to change ND filter. I guess you might be wondering why I gave up the M2P? Well, it was advanced technology!

I had the Air 2 and it is a good drone and I was reasonably happy with it but as a photographer the Air 2S 1-inch image sensor has me in love and wanting to use it all the time. Now I take camera and drone or just the drone on my daily sunrise shoots. Having a lot of fun with it.

I owned the M2P for two years, I no longer own it but have the Air 2S. I have compared the video between the two and at least for me, the M2P wins, perhaps the Hasselblad thing?

Yes most likely, the Hasselblad probably wins because of the superior glass, but it really depends on what you like in regards to video, photo and the look/feel of the footage. Thanks for the comment!

I agree. Other than flight time could be better; this is a good all around camera drone for the masses (hobbyists). If professional quality is the goal then the M2P or E2P are the best in the prosumer class IMHO. It's always good to remember there are no "perfect drones". Just what is best for one's needs.

I really love it, it's so fast even in normal mode. And since I want to track when I'm mtb. We can finally turn off the screen while we put the controller in the backpack👋. And as another youtuber showed we can start quickshots with gesture control 👋

Yes you indeed do, but it's not a big issue, they're simple to crop out and only ever appear when the wind is strong and the drone has to fly crosswind.

great video .quick question if i may.i have the air 2 s and have been seeing slight pulsing from the front led lights in night videos or very low light ,i was led to believe these front ones turn off when taking video or photos,but when i tested this theory this is only the case when the drone has no motors running ,as soon as you start them up on come the leds ,,,,seems a bit odd to me ,i was told its the latest legislation to make them stay on when flying ,please can you test this out on your air 2 s ...cheers keep up the great content.

All-around great review Ash. If forced to replace my MA2 I would buy the Air 2S since it is the same airframe and capabilities but with a higher quality sensor and the added upward facing optical quadrant. The MA2/A2S system is just the most advanced craft DJI has put out, bar none (yes, that includes FPV Combo). You're honest about the hype and the shortcomings of A2S, that's good. If the customer isn't a photographer the lack of adjustable aperture control won't make a difference, and those for whom it would probably are already spending thousands on advanced cameras and gear anyway. They already have the Mavic 2 Pro and are waiting on the 3rd quarter tech product releases to see what the Mavic 3 will offer.

The change from MA2 to A2S is a pretty good one if your MA2 gets hurt. The ability to use your old batteries, case, props, and charging strip make for a "free" Fly More Combo. Any other drone and you'll have to drop fresh dough on accessories

Would love to upgrade from the Air 1 but like many A2CofC holders in the UK it’s not a good investment because come January 1st 2023 it’s basically bricked unless you live in the countryside or desert 🏜 We need C classed drones from DJI.

Air 2S is a great bird but it is overpriced, other than the camera the upgrades are mostly software. What they should of done is put those two new fancy O/A sensors on the side of the drone where they would have been much more useful.

Thanks for the comment Frank! I have to correct you however, the sensor is completely different from that of the Mavic Air 2, it's a 1" sensor, a completely different sensor.

It would of given in it side obstacle avoidance which would have been more useful that's all.

@@frankkolic9743 ah yes sorry I misread your comment, I thought that you were suggesting that the cameras were largely software upgrades - but I totally agree, those two sensors should have been on the sides, which would have been far more valuable! They could also have angled the two existing front sensors upwards a little, to give more speed sensing for OA. But let's hope that the next model brings all of this together.

I have a complete negative experience to report with this drone! I have a Mavic Air 2, but after one week of ownership of this Air 2S, it decided to self-land over the ocean (all controller functions disabled). As an experienced Mavic Air 2 pilot, I have never witnessed this behaviour. There could be serious flaws in the software of this drone, and I remain unimpressed with its short battery life. I get the feeling that DJI is using customers as suckers and design input for the AIr 3. My advice: Don't buy it! Wait for the DJI Air 3. DJI - I want my money back - if you value my loyalty.

Don't buy into the hype. These units are terrible. They are buggy, latency issues with the video feed, signal related issues are 2000 ft plain of sight no objects nor other radios, unable to charge your phone (slow charging only), the tracking software loses sight in plain sight, files get corrupted 😉, they aren't shielded from EMF/EMI, the software app is buggy, you will get jitter in transmission and on the recording file, these are cheap Chinese toys not drones. Sorry DJI, you lost the game and feel. Let someone else start the trend.
