DJI Avata 2 - I FOUND A BUG AGAIN!!!

Thanks for this video man. People can hate on the Love toy as much as they want, it gave me as a complete beginner the ability to immediately fly my drone without crashing, and within 30 minutes I was easily soaring around in sport mode. You have to give it to the love toy, nothing on the market is this accessible in the fpv drone space.

Exactly the same issue today with Avata 2 and first flight. It was super slow flight in beginner's mode and had to enable/disable it once more and several times unexpected stop with no response to motion controller. Following flights were ok without any issues. Latest firmwares updated before flight of course...

I don't know, I believe I have seen this same behavior with Avata 1 many times with RC2. Gimbal get tilted when turning into wind or something like that. A quick jerk of the controller seems to level gimbal. Never thought it was bug, but maybe.

Looks fun, has your kid also flown it? My neighbors kids (both 11 yrs) love to fly around with the Legacy Avata and I chase them with a normal Quad :)

Enjoyed this short flying review of the Avata 2. Almost pulled the trigger on an Avata2 fly-more bundle, but really want to know if O3 support is 100% in goggles 3. If O3 AND Vista support is confirmed in Goggles 3 (promises are not enough!) - this would be insta-buy for me since I could not only enjoy the new Avata2, but use the Goggles 3 for my entire DJI carbon fiber fleet.

Awesome Justin, I am thinking of getting this avata 2 fly more combo.. I fly a tinyhawk 3 freestyle hdzero now and its awesome but this looks like a huge step up from that regarding the range and resolution.. Got my drone licens certificate A1/A3 yesterday also so I am all ready to go but is it worth it or should I just keep flying the hdzero freestyle? Best regards

Experienced many of the same bugs myself especially during spirited flight returned it after the second day just wayy to many issues at the moment no one else is willing to talk about. But I can assure you this bug is real and there are more as well that directly impact flight characteristics in a negative way. Goggles 3 are pretty great though lol.

Glad you posted your comment. It helps the community and people looking to buy an Avata 2. I was the first one to post about the bug. And funny a few people made a comment saying "Click bait" where is the Bug?" lol they obviously didn't watch the video. Glad you paid attention. It's in the video lol. I thought about returning mine. But i am hoping they come out with a quick firmware update that fixes the TILT LOCK Bug. It is very real. - DJI should start sending us units to test.

@@dronecamps Hey my apologies, I don’t check my KZbin messages very often, but yeah it really really bugs me how everyone on KZbin is just praising the Avata 2, but no one really tells the truth.. i’m not saying it’s a terrible bad quad and you shouldn’t buy it. Im just saying it’s not ready yet software wise. Another issue I faced that contributed to me returning it was full throttle at a standstill in sport mode it kept doing this weird side to side shuttering motion that is just unacceptable especially for a quad at this price point. It was sooo freaking odd and tbh my mini 4 pro flew wayyy better in almost every way, and they have the same top speed in sport mode 😂. The Avata 2 is only capable of reaching real fpv speeds with sticks on the new controller 3.

I watched a guy hit the ground after a trick. Not even hard. The avata 2 said EMU sensor error, and when he put the drone in normal mode to land, it flipped over and flew itself into the ground.

Is this the best drone for when you wil learn flying in manual mode with the time you can fly and not have to be that scary for crashes? Or save the money and buy a for example a cinelog 35 and start with this ofcourse after first learning on a sim

I just had my first fly today with the Avata 2 and I think mine has the same glitch, it flies ok but when I do a flyby and head out it seems to get stuck, it did it twice,

what you think about the funky faceplate seal? its not foam . what is it like thin rubber? i feel like it would make me sweat even more

Hahaha they fooled me. At first I’m like ; wtf??? Where is my faceplate foam at? I got jipped! Then I realized they hover. So they kinda let less light in. Takes some getting used to. I do like that it’s off my nose and eyes. No sweat rings. It may be cooler actually. After a few flights you don’t even notice it. You’re just enjoying the flight and flow.

Justin, do you know if a 65W USB-C Wall Charger for my laptop can be safely used to charger the Avata 2 batteries? DJI wants $79 USD for their charger whereas a $20 65W USB-C charger should work just as well. Thanks for providing the awesome videos

I can confirm that something like the Dell 65 watt USB-C power supply will work just fine with DJI battery systems. Real USB-C chargers will auto-negotiate the voltage and current being delivered to the device. Personally, for my DJI products I use an Anker 735 charger and it works perfectly.

I've always liked you and your channel. You're one of my favorite go to guys when it comes to fpv information. However, I've noticed the tendency you have when it comes to DJI. You love their air units, but you hate their drones. You always look for the worst possible scenario. I guess this one wasn't as bad as you hoped it would be. Not a shot, just an observation. You do great work, but everyone is susceptible to bias. Rock on!
