If you use 60fps.. keep in mind that it sends more data from drone to goggles, it will affect the range where you fly. With 30fps you can fly far away and the signal can penetrate better through trees and obsticals. I rarely use 60fps.. and if i do. Then i will stay very close to the drone. So.. what less fps you have.. that futher away you will keep the signal to the drone.

30 fps has so much motion blur tho.

So 2.7k/50 with 1/100 shutter and no stabilization is the best? Should i do d-cinalike too?

Interesting 🤔. I’ve been filming at 4K 60FPS with Rocksteady on. I’ll conduct some test the next time fly my Avata 🤓. 🙂🙃🙂

I haven't tried using the Gyro flow software with the Avata yet, but this something to consider. And I agree with your opinion that the Avata lacks the dynamic range of the DJI camera birds that have released lately. And it does have trouble adjusting when you change directions from back to sun to facing the sun. I guess were on the clock for an improved camera and strong motors in the Avata 2. Great video Eddie, thanks for sharing.

Ron, Gyroflow is so good. It’s a free software that doesn’t take much from you to learn and it outputs some fantastic results.

Thanks for the informative video Eddie. Had my first Avata flight a few days ago. Was all excited to use my Action 4 on it so that I get some quality footage. Even got the beautiful 'Bad Idea Mount' from Original Dobo. However, I realized that with the Action 4 mounted on top, the flight time reduced to a sad less than 10 mins and I was not even in manual mode. Without the action 4, I got a happy 15 mins flight time which is decent in my opinion. I did use the 2.7K 4:3 aspect ratio @60 fps in the avata and later used the Gyroflow within the Davinci Resolve Studio. Though the results were good, I think there is still room for some more improvements on my part. Next time I will change to 50 fps as you have suggested. Lets see.
@MrEddieNunez7 ай бұрын
Yeah, flight time will be reduced when you mount an action cam but the benefit is improved video. 10 minutes of flight time with an action 4 on the Avata to me is fine. Just plan your flights. Let me know if 50 fps looks better for you. Thanks for watching.

Good info Eddie! It’s personally been kind of a frustrating adventure trying to get decent footage out of the Avata to the point where I’m just flying it for fun versus trying to get footage. I’ll definitely try out some of your settings. Thanks for putting this together!

Eddie Very nice video, can you recommend something for social media like Instagram Histories or Reels ( vertical footage ) what is the best resolution to crop the video to 9:16. Thanks in advance.
@MrEddieNunez8 ай бұрын
Hi Stuch- Thanks for viewing. For instagram reels 9X16 same settings would apply the only difference is that you will crop and zoom in to that vertical aspect ratio. For the best quality, I would mount a GoPro vertically on top of the Avata.
@Stuch108 ай бұрын
@@MrEddieNunez i have the Gopro hero 12 , that one now have the setup to record in vertical mode without rotating, or you can use 8:7 and crop the video. the only thing is the weight of the gopro for the avata. I am not sure if the drone support it. i have seem some videos of people using it but i dont think is gonna be stable.

Hi Eddie, my Avata tends to lean when flying strait. Ihave tried re-calibrating it and still seems to lean and I do not think there is always wind creating an influence. (PS I fly a lot of race drones so I am used to drones behaving properly) do you have any issue with this as looking at the footage here it is awesome and generally flat.Cheers
@MrEddieNunez8 ай бұрын
Hi Chris, no issues here with a lean. Is this happening in Manual mode?
@chriscflint8 ай бұрын
HiEddie, no not in manual but I think that is because I am automatically correcting the pitch, horison etc. only with the motion controller and I have tried calibrating that as well seemingly without success. And by the way I have used two separate motion controllers so it is wierd.@@MrEddieNunez

The goggles not 100fps or 50per eye? And you can put GoPro on it if you want
@MrEddieNunez8 ай бұрын
Yes, with a GoPro mounted none of this would be relevant.
