First responder drones, used by police, firefighters, and medical teams, provide real-time information and aerial support during emergencies. DJI is currently the primary provider of such advanced technology, offering reliable drones equipped with sensors and thermal imaging. American companies have yet to match this level of capability, making it challenging to find effective alternatives if DJI drones are banned. The politicians don’t know what they are doing or talking about. Everything they do currently is a mess. They don’t listen to experts

They should be working on drone detection and counter-drone tech instead of focusing on a single drone manufacturer. Especially considering the fact that DJI employs geofencing functionality. Our government is more focused on spending huge $$ on archaic military tech and sending hundreds of $ Billions of taxpayer dollars to Ukraine. They aren’t even learning lessons from the Warmongering taking place over here. I just watched a video showing a team of teens building FPV “Kamikaze” drones, hardly DJI products. It’s odd that Republican lawmakers keep saying the most ridiculous things. That’s traditionally the Demoncrat’s job.

If the US government actually cared about improper drone use, they would have implemented a TFR (“temporary flight restriction”) longer than the 2 hour TFR in place for the Pennsylvania site where President Trump was shot. Interesting idea however the qualification for Blue list drones is that the drone has all american made parts and is completely assembled in the United States. To be NDAA compliant there can't be any CHINA parts. All of DJI's engineering has Chinese parts. For DJI to produce a drone compliant with these requirements they would have to start all new R&D and Manufacturing just for the United States Market. So they would have to develop drones for everybody except the US, and anther set of drones for just the US.

The US Government would prefer that drones are not available to the general public. Initially they did not take them seriously, now they do. The conflict in Ukraine has made it clear to them that drones can be easily weaponized. As such, it was always a matter of time until companies like 'Ahhchoo' (see what I did there?) would position themselves to be the ones to get major US contracts. Scummy, but it is what Capitalism is. My company had one of the first dozen or so 333 exemptions. We had contracts with several civil engineering firms and a couple of Federal/State Agencies. Most did not allow us to use DJI on any of their critical infrastructure projects. P.S. The FAA screwed 333 holders over pretty hard. Once Part 107 happened they were are able to go in-house. Add to that the weirdness of constantly changing rules/laws and we chose to walk away rather than putting our commercial pilot licenses at risk. It's a matter of time before part 107 holders also get screwed.
@SteelCityDrones5 ай бұрын
I too received my 333 exemption and got a sports pilots license. After spending $11,000 and 8 months of time they removed the requirement with Part 107. Now you don't even have to take a pilots skilled test.

DJI has a monopoly on the market due to having access to cheaper manufacturing and cheaper specialized electronics. This law would essentially reduce their market reach and allows smaller players to enter the market and catch up. There is also a major security concern of using electronics produced by a potentially hostile nation. There are alternatives to DJI that are nearly as cheap and provide similar capability, so I don't think there will be major degradation for rescue workers.

Can Rick Scott even tell a drone from his ass.

Why didn't you say Republican Rick Scott? That's important and explains everything!

That figures about Scott. Leopards don't change spots, do they Scotty! Money talks, baloney walks! We don't care what you say or do, we don't belong to USA Inc. We will do what we want. Say hi to your lobby buddies. And Stefanic also.

I gave up on GoPro trying to get my Karma back in the air…not gonna happen. So the Mrs. Got me a DJI mini 3 Pro for Christmas so I can keep making my music videos. My next one is about hummingbirds. It sickens me to think these jerks in Washington can be so delusional. They’re trying to make this USA vs China web issue for November. One persons patriotism is another persons criminal. Freedom is dying right before our eyes. Vote blue…

DJI is a Chinese company.... Considering there are tensions between the US and China.... I'm surprised they're still on the market....
@SteelCityDrones5 ай бұрын
DJI has been selling Drones to the US market since 2013 and there has never been a problem. There has been tensions with the US and China for a long time without any issues. There is no security threat with DJI drones compared to any other drone on the market but if the ban goes through it will significantly hurt the drone industry and the economy and there is no proposed plan to prevent that from happening.

Support US companies we even have one that makes them down the street in a Boonie 2000-person small town in NH. I am sure they would be happy for some investors.

We would love to support US companies that can produce drones of the same features, functionality and pricing as DJI. However it will take time and money to get there.

DJI drone ban is important for drone manufacturing in the West and its important for security. US or any other Western country cannot afford to lag behind in drone technology and the only way to get US and Western companies to develop better drones is to give them a bigger market share. With that said, the DJI drone is one of the best on the market and will probably be so for 2-3 years until other companies catch up. but in the long run, it is a good thing. It's not like US can win a drone war against China if they need to buy the parts and technology from China, Russia or Iran. And it's not like companies have a chance to develop better drones if they only have 5% of the market.

Please help do your part and reach out to your local senator and tell him that you strongly oppose this nonsense and how it will negatively affect yourself, the drone industry and the economy.
