She is a big old bird and getting old in the tooth now however she is still so capable and on another level compared to anything else, while the M3 is very capable this is still the king of hill.

For what it's worth, I spoke with a manager at DJI Service yesterday and described this issue to him. He took the time to look up some reports and got back to me telling me they were very concerned and would look into this

I've just returned home from a 6 week shoot on a big adventure challenge show in Costa Rica. We had LOTS of high wind conditions... December winds in northern CS... and I nearly lost my Inspire 2 at least 5 times because of this issue. I'd be shooting (during a challenge on the show, under pressure, and also over heavy jungle, cliffs, etc) and suddenly the yellow bar would come up on the screen saying "Limiting motor output to preserve battery health". The drone would then level out and start drifting away on the wind. Usually I was up several hundred feet where the winds were worse, so my first move was to reduce altitude. But when this happens, the drone also limits its ability to come down, so not only is it drifting on the wind, but vertical speed is GREATLY reduced, so you aren't able to get down out of the wind. If this had happened in a spot where contestants were hanging from ropes downwind of the drone (which was not uncommon shooting conditions on a show like this), it could easily have resulted in much worse than just a lost I2. This is a dangerous "feature" and needs to be overridable.

Hi, downgrade to .0400 and the problem is gone. I regained trust after that. Terrible feeling when thrust is limited!

Did you manage to look and see if you could reinstall an older version of firmware for the inspire 2? I have had some very bad luck with the I2 and just dusted it off from 18 months of mothball. And of course I have a pretty old version of firmware. Just pondering if I should risk this new firmware. I would easily try it, but only if I could reinstall the older version that is BEFORE this power management software was rolled out. Thanks a lot, and keep up your great work. Cheers!

I updated mine to the .500 and rolled back to .400 (in January 2022) as was concerned about low power mode, but over a year on will probably update to the .600 now (basically the same) now. I'm assuming you can still roll back with .600..

I crashed my Inspire 2 two months ago, before I watched your video... But it seems possible I experienced this problem because the power just dropped suddenly and the craft needed to make an emergency landing. I have repaired it and the craft seems to work, but my X5S is probably dead. It complains over sensor error. Guess I have to get a X7... 😉 Any news on the new version 0600?

interesting.... i had updated to the fimware and on the second flight the fifst was below 10 feet just to test. it fell from 35 meters with full laft yaw despite me having only raised it to 45-40 meters i tried opposite yaw to counter this and it collided with the side of my house. i have never had a problem with it in the over 50 flights including taking off and landing from a moving boat crossing the atlantic and many flights over and around rome with the necessary permits. had it hit me i would have been hospitalised or killed. do not use the firmware previous to this update and i wouldnt trust this one either. i havent reported it as im still in shock to be honest. i was a couple months ago now. i can send pics of the damage and the conveniently missing last video and telemetry but i have a brief video of the flights before with the new firmware. thak goodness were making a true high end drone as the mavic 3 isnt it.

Hi all! I don’t know about the new firmware, but the .0500 is terrible because of this issue. Downgrade to .0400 and the problem is gone. to downgrade the batteries,, turn off the internet connection from your phone or tablet. The I2 will moan an inconsistent firmware and downgrade the battery. Repeat with all battery pairs.

Now the problem is said to be only with wind. You flight with absolutely no wind. Unfortunately, your video says nothing. Do a flight test in very strong wind.

I make this clear and I make it clear that this issue is affecting people in all sorts. I do regularly fly in wind and beta tested the 0500 in South Wales in winter and I still don’t get the issue.

@@MadRC Ok but then why don't you fly in strong winds in this video.What you have been flying elsewhere, we can not see. Therefore, if you already make such a video, it would be better to watch in wind, whether the problem is there or not. The problem is that everyone only talks about it, but does not show whether such a problem, which you describe in the video, is there or not.

the best point in time to sell the Inspire 2 with even a new firmware. Can not get any better cause the buyer of such used copter is from a very small species which wants or needs more and is also willing to pay a bit more. A usual Mavic 2 pro or even Mavic 3 cine is not good enough and luckily those guys exist otherwise it would be a hard time. Same for the Mavic 2 buyers even though the depreciation has come to an end.

It’s defiantly feeling it’s age. The flight behaviour is not at good as it was tbh with these updates but the gimbal behaviour is better.
