Dave, don't you think that the bitrate increase from 64 mb/s to 100mb/s from the Mavic Pro 1 to the Zoom has empowered the Zoom with a much improved video quality? I certainly do!

First 120fps comparison I've seen and first major difference I've seen between these cameras. I've got a 2 pro on the way and I plan on using 120fps for filming MTB so this makes me happy. Nice one.

Ben Cathro thanks Ben! Ya the 120fps mode really is a big difference. The pro all around of course has the best IQ. The zoom is just really convenient

Dude, i think watched all new mavic videos on YT, You are first who finally made a real useful image comparsion between those 2! And thank You for that! :D If it wouldn't be a problem, i would love to see 2 things (especially first one): 2.7K 50fps image comparsion and FOV comparsion between 48mm from zoom vs HQ crop. I mean, IMO getting zoom version and full focal lengh would be used mostly for sports and going out from church after wedding , where slow motion in necessary (shooting confetti, baloons etc.) I would be really grateful for that!

What type of SD card you use to hold the 4K? I have Scandisk U3 / V30 Extreme Gold and my image comes out jumpy. But when 1080 works great I havent tried the 2K yet

Hi Dave, I am a serious amateur photographer and only interested on images. Once both mavics were launched I thought that my option was "no brainer" with mavic 2 Pro but after seeing a lot of video comparisons and the fact that M2Z has the option of high resolution images now I am very confusing what would be the right option for me. I will appreciate your comments and thanks before hand.

Why did you use d-logM on the Pro and D-Cinelike o the Zoom? I would have been curious to see a comparison using the same mode on both.

Unfortunately the Zoom doesn’t have the new DLog-M. Only normal mode and d-cinelike

Thanks for the video. I am a spark owner very happy but looking to have better range, reliable connectivity and more flight time. I am looking to upgrade, which one of the three would you recommend?(mavic 1, mavic 2 zoom or mavic 2 pro) I mostly use it for photography.

I think you’d be best served with a Mavic 2 Zoom! The high res shot is amazing and you don’t need the fancy camera just for photos.

Hi Dave complementing my question below, my main concern has to do with a comparison that I have not seen yet for landscapes photographers like me. A comparison image quality between super high res (48 megapixeles) in M2Z versus quality image of M2P (20 Megapixeles). I am a landscape photographer and use to take very few but special images. Have you already done this comparison? Regards from Chile

thanks for the video, would I need to correct the barrel distortion every time with the mavic pro 2? or would I be able to record in 8bit? I mainly do photography, and sometimes video but I doubt my computer would be able to handle the 4k videos. what do you recommend?

You could record in 8bit instead. No need to shoot 10bit. If you’re doing photography though it can do JPG and Raw so you can correct Lightroom easy. Idk if that helps

Hey man, great video. Quick question. I can’t find any advice out there for someone like me... Upgrading from a Pro Platinum, but don’t do much work in post. Mostly use auto settings with minor tweaks, but amateur stuff mostly. Should I skip the new pro because most of the features apply mostly to being able to work a lot in post? Or is the extra quality really noticeable right out of the box? Thanks!

Great question! No even in the full auto modes you would see substantial upgrade in image quality because the sensor and lens is so much better. In addition to that the Pro 2 has much better obstacle avoidance. Butttt at the end of the day, if your not doing pro work then it’s not necessary

You are 100% correct about the Mavics vs the Phantom 4 Pro. The original Mavic Pro was VERY muddy on anything below middle grey. Shadows were always just a big blob of wax. Even this Mavic-II Pro is still very soft in the tress and bushes. Guys,...look at trees and bushes, even these new Mavics show that detail very dull. Phantom 4 Pro? Nope,...same sensor but completely different read-out technique. P4P does not line skip....Mavic-II Pro does in FOV and it crops it's sensor in HQ.

That greyness in the ZOOM shot at the end looks like it has something wrong with it. I think there is something wrong with that drone or the settings. Its the same in some of your ZOOM footage, Cloudy, Grey not in focus... This image quality cant be correct...

Well it’s because that stuff was shot at 1080p at 120fps which is the worst quality mode on the drone. The quality is total crap

Learned something that most people don’t know. You can turn the gimbal left and right with your finger on the phone screen while flying. Why isn’t anyone talking about this? Comments?

Dave Altizer Oh wow. I was hoping that it was close. I love the P4 footage. I was debating on whether I should wait on a Phantom 5 as I’d use it for pro work and stick with my Mavic Air for travel. What are your thoughts?

If image quality is most important to you then wait for the new phantom. But the Mavic 2 Pro is a great happy medium.

I’m measuring now to see if the M2Pro can fit in the bottom of my peak design backpack and side of my messenger bag. If not that will also be a factor for me. No it does not. It MAY come in a future firmware update but don't count on it. In all honesty DJI have really shafted their consumers by limiting the features (intelligent modes).

Uuh the g7 is like $400 and it can do 4k 30fps at 100mbps and 1080 at 60fps and had flat picture profiles. So it's better than the drones. Can't fly? Attach balloons.

Dude you talk about image quality ..the zoom shits all over the pro .. look at the sharpness of the zoom compared to the pro is superior.. the cinematic quality of the zoom is superior... this hassleblad shit is crazy it's really just a sony cmos censor
